About the challenge

Anthropic is partnering with USC student organizations to bring you state-of-the-art tools and frontier models in this weekend's hackathon! Build with Claude for thousands of dollars in credits and the chance to meet with Anthropic employees and speak on a panel at Anthropic's upcoming Code with Claude conference this May!

Get started

All participants should have their credits and API keys set up at console.anthropic.com. Use the credits we give you for your project! Both the API and Claude Code are great ways to use your credits. 

Requirements

What to Build

Build anything you want, integrating Claude through Anthropic's API!

Note:
You may use other AI tools to build your project, as long as you use the Claude API 
Code written prior to the hackathon can be used as long as substantial changes are made for your project

What to Submit

Your submission must include:

  • Project Description: A brief explanation of what your project does, the problem it solves, and which track it falls under.
  • Code Repository: A public GitHub repository (or equivalent) containing your source code.
  • Demo Video (2-5 min): A walkthrough of your project, showcasing its features, functionality, and how it works.
  • Devpost Submission: A complete Devpost page with a clear summary, technologies used, and any additional resources (e.g., Figma designs, API docs).

Make sure your submission is original, adheres to the hackathon rules, and is completed within the hackathon timeframe!

Judging

  • Participants will submit their projects by 11:59 PM on Sunday, May 4th
  • All projects will be judged by Anthropic employees within the next week
  • Participants should remain available for questions and/or callbacks after their presentations
  • Winner and runner-up teams will receive API credits to be split evenly among teammates 🎉

Judging Criteria

  • Use of Claude
    The project has to integrate the Claude API. Use of Claude: how did you leverage the special features of Claude and the Anthropic API?
  • Impact
    Impact: social impact, product scale, or impact in a particular field, e.g. AI safety
  • Creativity
    Creativity: how creative and unique is your project? did you bring any new perspectives to the table?
  • Design
    Design: quality of your project and attention to detail
