 At the end of March 2025, the local court of Jena confirmed the newly elected board of ANSOLE e.V. consisting of Prof. Daniel A. M. Egbe (Chairperson), Ms Assumpta Chidinma Ezeh (Vice-Chairperson), Cynthia Muthoni Weis (Treasurer), and Gebreleul Tekleweyni.

  • During the first half of 2025, ANSOLE e.V. carried out a range of impactful activities at both the international and local levels. These activities align with ANSOLE e.V.’s core mission to promote sustainable energy, education, research collaboration, counselling, and support across Africa and locally in Germany. The international events, ranged from high-level international conferences and stakeholder engagements to grassroots workshops and cultural initiatives. ANSOLE continues to serve as a vital platform for advancing solar energy and climate action through inclusive, interdisciplinary efforts.

    In Jena and other parts of Thuringia, ANSOLE intensified its counselling and support activities to African migrants based on the AMAH-Project (Focal Point for People of African Origin). ANSOLE published the 2nd edition of the 3rd issue of the MIGRANTh magazine, which focuses on socially and politically engaged women. The issue was released on the March 8th, marking International Women’s Day. Moreover, four interviews were carried out for the 6th and 7th issues of the magazine.

    The chairperson and CEO of ANSOLE, Prof. Daniel A. M. Egbe, was elected on the 1st of April 2025, to the council of migrants of Jena for a 5 year mandate representing the African Continent.

ANSOLE Advisory Board

The main role of the Advisory Board is to facilitate and promote ANSOLE by keeping the African network up and running with research, exchange of researchers and training in Africa on solar energy. The Advisory Board will

  • promote the continuation of ANSOLE in its various networks in order to give it visibility and presence.
  • Unterstützung des Koordinators bei Fundraising-Aktivitäten.
  • Förderung interafrikanischer Netzwerke zur Einrichtung von Arbeitspaketen und Forschungsprogrammen zur Solarenergieforschung.
  • Teilnahme an und Unterstützung von Konferenzen, Workshops und politischen Foren zur Förderung der Solarenergieausbildung und -forschung in Afrika.
  • sich an der Verbreitung der Solarenergie-Arbeiten von ANSOLE zu beteiligen.
  • Wissenschaftler aus dem Rest der Welt ermutigen, die interafrikanische Vernetzung im Bereich der Solarenergie zu unterstützen.
  • die Veröffentlichung der Ergebnisse der afrikanischen ANSOLE-Netze in mehreren Sprachen unterstützen und die virtuelle Verbreitung von Wissen, Forschung und Innovation im Bereich der Solarenergie erleichtern.
  • encourage the equitable application of knowledge, training and research findings to make renewable energy a leading source of energy in Africa, given the unlimited abundance of sunshine and wind.
