About

Annie Cathryn has always dreamed of becoming an author and lives by the motto, “Creating is Living.”

Many moons ago, she worked in marketing communications for a Fortune 500 company. After reading Eat, Pray, Love, she traveled to Italy, embarked on an African safari, and meditated for 10 days with no contact with the outside world. Upon her return, she started her own marketing consulting agency.

However, writing is truly Annie’s first love. She was thrilled when her debut novel, The Friendship Breakup, reached #15 on Amazon’s New Releases in Friendship Fiction, was selected as a Zibby’s pick for 2023, and received several accolades, including The BookFest® Award, the Best Midwest Regional Fiction IPPY Award, the National Indie Excellence Award, and the Book Excellence Award.

Annie is the owner of Moon Ray Books, where her second novel, Eat the Cake, is set to be published in July 2026.

An avid reader, Annie devours over 100 titles a year, which has helped her blossom into a leading Bookstagrammer and launch a successful book podcast, Soulful Series.

Her essays have been featured in YourTango, Moms Don’t Have Time to Write, Shepherd.com, Medium, and Moms Don’t Have Time to Grieve.

Annie served on the working board of the Women’s Fiction Writers Association (WFWA) as the Vice President of Communications and is a member of the Chicago Writers Association and the Author’s Guild.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Master of Arts in Communication, specializing in public relations and advertising, from Marquette University.

When she is not writing or reading, you can find Annie organizing her personal library by color and planning her next vacation. She lives in Chicagoland with her husband, daughter, and two fur babies.
