✗ You are allowed THREE (3) submissions per week. ✗ All icons must be made new, for this icontest specifically, and must be made by you. No tutorial copying. ✗ All icons must meet the LiveJournal standards: 100x100, >40kbs, and in .JPEG, .GIF, or .PNG format. ✗ Animated icons are allowed. ✗ Do NOT steal another person's icon and submit it as your own. This WILL result in a ban from the community. ✗ Do not publicly post your icon(s) until after the week's winners have been posted. -Sunday: Submission post goes up -Saturday Afternoon: Voting posted -Monday Afternoon: Voting closes; any tiebreakers posted -Monday Evening/Tuesday Afternoon: Winners posted (Tuesday if there are tiebreakers) there will be THREE (3) per week -General Theme: Various. May include a specific phrase to include, a specific text style, or an open-ended word theme. Suggestions are welcome. -Image Theme: May only use the provided image. Text must be added, though what text you use is open-ended and does not have to meet either of the other themes. -Lyrical Theme: Song lyrics or a poem. Must include THREE CONSECUTIVE LYRICS in the icon. ✗ All icons must feature text; tiny text ONLY is allowed on ONE submission per week. Tiny text as decoration in addition to readable text is allowed on all your icons. THEME  http://imagesite/icon-by-rashiea.png SERIES ✗ Official art only. No fanart or doujinshi allowed. Anime, manga, AND Japanese RPGs are allowed. |
✗ Participants may not vote for their own icon unless they feel that it is the best. If that is the case, you may only vote for ONE of your own icons. ✗ Do not get others to vote for you and do not advertise your icons prior to the winners announcement. ✗ Voting is not mandatory for participation in the contest. It is, however, highly encouraged. ✗ Voting will take place from Saturday afternoon until Monday morning; a comment will designate when voting is closed. Tiebreakers will go up from Monday afternoon until Tuesday morning. ✗ Extensions for submissions will occur as a weekly thing, thus adhering to the schedule. Extensions will only occur if there are eight or less submissions, OR if there are only three participants for that week. That is, voting will only go up provided there are nine or more submissions AND at least four participants. Any given week will only be extended ONCE. If, after the extension, there are still not enough entries/entrants to post voting, a new submission post will go up, and voting at the end of the week will include icons from the extended week. ✗ All weeks will include a Special category as well as regular first, second, and third places. Special Categories will always focus on text usage (e.g. "Best Text", "Best Text Interpretation", "Most Creative Text Usage", etc.) Mod's Choice will be included in weeks with twelve or more submissions. A second Special Category (not related to text use) will be included in all weeks with twenty five or more icons. ✗ Voting is scored thusly: a first place vote is worth THREE points, second place worth TWO, and third place ONE. Special Category votes count separately. ✗ If you wish to be a bannermaker, the system for this contest will work slightly different from others. Rather than have a rotation of bannermakers, anyone interested in making banners must comment in the voting post stating that they would like to make the banners for that week only. This is to keep the bannermakers as current as possibly. ✗ You may only claim one week at a time; once your banners have been posted, you may then claim another week. ✗ Any week that lacks a volunteer, winners may request banners at  custom_banners. |
