If you shop at Abercombie and Fitch... stop.

http://www.businessinsider.com/abercrombie-wants-thin-customers-2013-5#ixzz2SSY5zAd0

To summarise, the CEO of Abercrombie and Fitch (Mike Jeffries) has said that he doesn't want "plus-size" clothing in his shops... his definition of plus-size being anything larger than a US 10 (UK 12). Why? Because "He doesn't want larger people shopping in his store, he wants thin and beautiful people"

Pretty much sums it up. Oh, and this only applies to women. Men can buy up to XXL because some of them are big athletes (right, because there aren't female bodybuilders and rugby players, or women with naturally higher muscle content/big breasts)

I think this is pretty damn appalling and, since his store caters a lot to teenagers, it is perpetuating the unhealthy and chauvanistic idea that women with any form of fat on their bodies are unattractive.

There have been a few debates on Facebook about this already and, surprise of surprises, most men think this is fine. Who are we to dictate to retailers what they sell? All I can say to that is that why is it fine, then, to tell people how they should look?

If you know anyone who shops at A&F, please show them this article. I would hope that they won't want their money to go to this pig.

The video is here!

For those of you who are interested, here's the video for my choreography. I created my very own choreography YouTube account. I'll be adding the Vy-B's videos on there too.

Please watch and let me know what you think!

Also, I've uploaded performances from the KV show as well.

My Thoughts on The Lying Game...

So I've just watched the pilot for the TV adaptation of Sara Shepard's "The Lying Game" and I thought I'd share some thoughts on it. Mostly a comparison between the books and the show.

I read the books recently (the fourth book is yet to be released) and I am hooked on them as much as Pretty Little Liars. So when I heard about the TV series, I jumped on it. But I was bitterly disappointed to learn that they changed almost the entire premise of the show (which has been appropriated by Ringer). But I caught episodes 8, 9 and 10 on TV and they weren't that bad if you disregard the books. So I streamed the pilot to see if I still liked it.

For starters, Sutton isn't dead.

Writer's Block: Multiple Personalities

Introduce all your different personalities.

Hm... good Writers Block.

Let's see...

There's the nerdy, shy writer that gets random bursts of creativity and lives half her time in a fantasy world. Also comes with an unhealthy addiction to Charmed.
There's the dancer, who loves almost everything to do with dance and despises anything that promotes sensationalism to the detriment of artistic integrity (tricks are all well and good, but if there's nothing else in the piece, what's the point? I'd rather watch a straight forward, non-tricks dance piece with a story and heart than a guy spinning on his index finger for no reason). She also lapses into trances where she is either choreographing something in her mind or mentally rehearsing a dance
There's the shopgirl, who puts on a friendly smile and tries to be as helpful and efficient as possible, even though every day at work kills her slightly inside
There's the political activist, who is a vegetarian, will not buy any items that are tested on animals, signs petitions and rants about how fucked up the Coalition Government is.
Finally, there's the wife who loves to cook and spend time with her husband. However constantly battles with the feminist, who believes she shouldn't cancel her plans so she can spend some time with her husband.

Writer's Block: TMI

What is the strangest thing someone has confessed to you?

Not exactly the strangest thing, but definitely one of the most disturbing.
One of my friends, in college, once told me about this guy she was seeing and that he was turning down her advances despite being very clearly... um... interested.

The disturbing part of this was that the guy she was seeing was my best friend. Some things about him I very much don't want to know.
Additionally, that morning he had confided in me that he was planning on breaking up with her.

Being caught between two people you really care about? Not fun.

If your pet had thumbs, what would it do?

My cat would eat all of the food!

Writer's Block: Spring Cleaning

What do you really need to get rid of?

Clothes. I have a box of stuff ready to donate. Still don't have enough room for everything, but I can't let go of some bits. Unfortunately, buying in season clothing is part of my job (essentially, its my uniform as we have to advertise the brand), so I have way more clothing than I need.

Writer's Block: Back to the Future

Given the choice of time travel, would you go back in time or forward?

I'd be too afraid of buggering up the past, but I'd love to have a quick pop into the future to see what my career holds for me. And perhaps badger my future self to give me some tips.

Writer's Block: Tossing and Turning

Tell us your weirdest dream.

Last night I dreamt that my husband and I sold our flat and bought a house opposite my mum's, but it turned out that we still need to have a lease. And one of the terms of this lease was that we weren't allowed to make any changes to the place (e.g. replace the doors, change the wallpaper, etc) for when the guy who owns the land wants to sell again.

Thoroughly boring and very strange at the same time.

Writer's Block: Tough Choices

If forced to give up one, which would you choose: love, friendship, or family?

I don't think I could give up any of them.

Love: My husband is my soul mate, my best friend- he keeps me sane and so happy. I couldn't live without him.
Friendship: Most of my friends have been my closest friends since the beginning of secondary school. We've been to hell and back together and I trust them with my life. Seeing them as infrequently as I do now kills me- I couldn't give them up completely.
Family: Granted, my sisters do hate me and seem to do so purely because I exist... however, my parents are great and (almost) never let me down. And, as of last August, I now have an additional immediate family of a mother and step-father, father and step-mother, two brothers, one sister, a sister-in-law and a step-brother. I love them all like crazy and I couldn't give them up either.
