The Harbourside Waterfront Development is a significant $400 million master-planned community situated at the waterfront of Harbourside Business Park in North Vancouver, BC. Once completed, this development will feature 18 buildings, encompassing 900 residential units, along with office and commercial spaces, all built above one level of below-grade parking.
AME has been involved in the project since the master planning stage, providing extensive support throughout various phases. Their contributions include exploring different mechanical system types, working closely with the district energy provider, conducting energy analyses to guide the architect in shaping the buildings, and addressing potential risks related to future code changes and project phasing strategies. Additionally, AME carried out an on-site energy sharing study to optimize efficiency across the development.
To further support the project, AME conducted detailed energy modeling analysis to align compliance with the provincial Step Code, assist in obtaining new construction incentives through Fortis BC, and help achieve LEED Gold targets. They also studied low-carbon central plant options to enhance the sustainability of the development while meeting energy performance standards.
