Cross-posted to knitting but stuck here, too.

I’m sitting on the floor of the laundry room prepping this entry, listening to the washer fill up before it starts to felt my latest bag.  I’m a little nervous about it – I’ve never felted Lopi before and it was a pattern of my own design, so we’ll see how the colorwork holds up and whether the top continues to flop over on itself (most of the body is much sturdier as it was pretty much all stranded, so it’s thicker.. the top, not so much).

Anyway, up first is what had been a WIP the last time – my second hemmie .

Next up is a Branching Out scarf.

Then we have a quick and dirty drop stitch scarf.

Oh dear – I just checked the bag and the strap is a disaster.  I may need to cut it off, let it dry on its own, reshape it and reattach it.  (And dear gods, does it SMELL).

Back to the post -- And then I tried toys!

Some in progress (prefelting) pictures of the bag I’m now really afraid I ruined…

And now some WIPs!

And some bonus yarn porn:

Your result for The Perception Personality Image Test...

HFPS - The Humanitarian

Humanity, Foreground, Big Picture, and Shape

You perceive the world with particular attention to humanity. You focus on what's in front of you (the foreground) and how that fits into the larger picture. You are also particularly drawn towards the shapes around you. Because of the value you place on humanity, you tend to seek out other people and get energized by being around others. You like to deal directly with whatever comes your way without dealing with speculating possibilities or outcomes you can't control. You are in tune with all that is around you and understand your life as part of a larger whole. You prefer a structured environment within which to live and you like things to be predictable.

I don't know how I forgot to post...

James and I are moving this weekend and could use a few extra Boston-based hands (we already have a few) to get stuff done in the shortest amount of time.  We're providing dinner (probably pizza) and snacks throughout the afternoon.  We're on the 2nd floor currently and moving to the third floor of a building down the road.  If anyone's available Saturday afternoon, we'd be really grateful.

Warning: Most of the move will be furniture and boxes of books (we're making shorter trips with the lighter stuff during the week) so it's semi-heavy and it's a lot of stairs.

Oh, and when/if you move, we'll come help  :-)

So, I'm nine and a half hours from surgery time and my final paper for Public Christianity still isn't done. I've written 15 and 1/3 pages today but still have a little more to push through before I can actually process the fact that I'm going under general anesthesia tomorrow. I'm freaking out a little bit, not in a 'am I making the right choice' way, but in a 'I've never had surgery, there are a bajillion things that could go wrong, what's gonna happen' way.

Mom and Nana got here tonight and we all (me, mom, nana, James and James' mom) went to dinner. They all got along fabulously well and so I'm not so stressed about them all in the waiting room tomorrow.

Ok, enough procrastinating. The next you'll hear from me is probably a dopey "I'm out of surgery and going to go take a nap now" sort of post.

Peace.

so, I leave tomorrow morning for my surgery on Tuesday and are my papers done?

Of course not.

SUCK.

*sigh*

Are you Catholic?

or

Are you / have you been involved in HIV/AIDS outreach and/or ministry?

Both?

Are you willing to answer a few e-mail questions?

I've hit crisis time with a paper of mine that requires interviews, having done the responsible researching and following other leads only to a) get no responses, b) get 'yes, I'd love to talk' but then no responses to actual setting of times or c) gotten cancellations. So, now I turn to my friends page... if you know anyone, too, please let me know.

*sigh*
