This ONLY uses the barometric sensor in your phone to estimate your altitude.
This app does not access your location in any way. It does not use GPS, and will not get your relative sea level. However you can adjust it manually.
This app tracks and records your altitude based on the barometric sensor in your phone. Not all phones have a barometric sensor. If your phone is capable you can use this app to access it and record readings.
It is based on the data logging software in the Angstrom Metrology family of apps.

-It also can "zero" out the pressure for measuring relative differences if desired.
