We’re proud to be supporting major industrial decarbonization initiatives (Green Steel) with our engineering expertise.
Our team is providing consulting and engineering services for new and modified bulk materials handling infrastructure, including conveyors, feeders, dedusting systems, transfer towers, silos, and transfer chutes, as part of the development of a Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) and Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) system.
Sustainability is embedded in our design approach. Through advanced in-house DEM simulations, we optimize material flow for challenging materials such as DRI and HBI, ensuring reliable, efficient, and safe operations. ALPINE supports the transition to DRI–EAF steelmaking, enabling significant CO₂ emissions reduction, phased integration of hydrogen-based processes, and long-term operational flexibility. By applying proven engineering solutions in a complex brownfield environment, we’re helping support the customer’s decarbonization goals while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.

Meet Peter Diethardt, Sales & Bid Management – Special Markets, based in Leoben, Austria.
Peter has been with ALPINE since day one, growing with the company while continuously developing his skills and deepening his understanding of customer needs through close collaboration and direct communication.
Within ALPINE, Peter values the freedom to make decisions and the trust his colleagues and supervisors place in him, creating an environment that allows him to take ownership and have a meaningful role.
“I appreciate being able to take responsibility, contribute my ideas, and know that my judgment is respected and valued.”
Outside of work, Peter enjoys time with his family, gardening, skiing, hiking in the mountains, staying active, and learning how things work.

🌟 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT 🌟
Meet Caleb Enns, Project Engineer, based in Vancouver, BC.
One of our newest team members, Caleb joined ALPINE in November 2025. With a strong foundation in technical execution and project delivery, he works closely with site teams to resolve day-to-day technical and coordination challenges. His hands-on role helps keep projects aligned, efficient, and moving forward.
What Caleb values most about working at ALPINE is the people and the collaborative culture. He’s enjoyed working with colleagues from across the globe and seeing how diverse perspectives come together to solve real, on-the-ground challenges.
“The team at ALPINE is supportive, approachable, and genuinely invested in doing good work. There’s a shared mindset that everyone wants to get the job done and get it done well. It`s a collaborative environment where people are willing to help each other succeed.”
Outside of work, Caleb enjoys staying active and exploring new places, from snowboarding and hiking to paddle-boarding, cold dips, and discovering great cafés. A lifelong traveller, he’s visited around 30 countries so far and is always looking for the next adventure.

A Shiploader is only as reliable as its spout.
ALPINE has been awarded a contract in the United States to supply a telescopic shiploading spout for a coal Shiploader where persistent spout blockages were driving downtime, mechanical failures, and reduced throughput.
Our solution is designed to eliminate plugging, improve reliability, and significantly reduce shiploading time. The result is a more stable operation, increased throughput, and improved profitability without major changes to the overall Shiploader structure.
Sometimes, the biggest gains come from fixing the most critical component.
