Step Seven

In Step Seven we will commence detailed exploration of the look and feel of the building.depending on your chosen package we will explore this in three dimensions and in virtual reality to visualise the internal and external look and feel of the design. We will then prepare your Technical Packages of drawings and specifications for submission to Planning and Building Standards.

Timeline

Working with Allison Architects on our extension project has been an absolute dream. On reflection our initial plan to extend our house was not the correct route. After meeting with Stephen it was clear there were other options that would not only create a much more modern living space but also make the home more desirable. The change in vision was a game changer and would not have been possible without Stephen’s input. We opted for renders which gave us a real sense of the space as well as the potential and were then introduced to Rebecca who did a wonderful job in making the vision a reality. We also opted to use Stephen Allison Architects for project management and went with one of their recommended principal contractors after going through a detailed tender process. Yes, this costs extra initially, but we feel it was well worth it in the long run after hearing so many horror stories from other people doing similar projects. The build stage was seamless and everything ran like clock work. We broke ground in April and completed in August which was actually ahead of schedule which is very rare in these kind of projects! The end result is everything we dreamed of and we are enjoying every moment in our transformed home! Overall we were absolutley delighted with the how Stephen, Rebecca and the contractor delivered on our project. They were all professional, communucation was excellent and were transparent at all times. We would not hesitiate to recommend them.

Newton Mearns

We engaged Allison Architects for a single story extension at the rear of our property on the South side of Glasgow (before and after pictured below). After initial discussions with Stephen we proceeded with a practical and visually impressive design which complimented the existing main part of the house whilst providing a modern angled look to fit our outside space which satisfied all the criteria we had in mind. Following a period of step by step the planning, spec, demo and build process with the help of Sinje & Rebecca we received completion approval in December, our project was completed within the indicated time frame and was on budget for what was proposed with one of AA’s recommended building contractors. We found Rebecca to be professional, flexible and respectful at all times in the process and she was invaluable in acting as a go between with the building contractor as we were novices in almost all aspects of this type of project. We are very glad that we chose Allison Architects for our project and are delighted with the final product in every regard.

Giffnock

Allison Architects designed the large scale renovation project of our Edwardian house. The brief wasn’t straightforward because it not only involved complete overhaul of a half of downstairs but also creating bedrooms in the attic space. We also wanted crisp, modern architectural style, a bit of mix of Scandinavian and Japanese styles. Allison Architects came up with brilliant, creative design solutions to our brief which made the most of available space and also created a bright and sociable open plan kitchen/diner/living area in the downstairs. We were impressed with their ability to turn our vision into architectural designs that eventually improved the quality of our life. We love our house and this was impossible without Allison Architects. We highly recommend their service to anyone who looks to build or renovate their home.
