NOTE: As of 11/30/2007, I have set my journal options to the highest "adult" settings. I do not want the "thought police" to be able to delete my journal or seek action against me because of my journal content. Most of my journaling is PG-13 or well below that level, but I DO NOT support the new ability LJ has given people to "flag" posts based on whether they think content is appropriate or not. Read more about this here. You can continue to read my posts by being on my friends list and changing your filters to accept "adult content," which is outlined in the post that you can click above. Thank you.
Who am I?
I'm Lori, a 32-year-old Wench living in Central Kentucky. (If you think a "Wench" is a "bad thing," you don't understand. Among other things, a Wench is a Woman Entitled to Nothing But Complete Happiness). :) In no particular order, I'm a daughter, sister, puppy-mama, auntie, lover, partner, friend, wife, and Wench. I have a nine-year-old mutt who owns me. *grins!* I was born in Kentucky and raised in Marion, Ohio. I went to college in Ohio (ONU, OSU) and North Carolina (East Carolina University).
I am married to the wonderful tully_argyle. Clay is not only my husband; we are partners, which is the most wonderful thing of all. We are deeply in love, and very happy to be with one another. True love *does* happen, and I'm grateful for his presence in my life every day.
I'm a strong, independent, loving, intelligent, caring woman. I love deeply, live fully, and laugh often! I'm very eclectic and interested in quite a few things, including Ren Faire, Civil War re-enactment, cooking, costuming and meeting new people! I am the Local Madame Emeritus of Local 77 of the International Wenches Guild (www.wench.org). Through this organization (and the other LundeGuilds), I've met many of my friends, most of whom are involved in Renaissance Faires.
I am opinionated. I am passionate. I believe in a variety of causes; some are more personal in nature, and some are public. I believe that we all have a responsibility to do what we can in the name of what we believe.
I am loyal, and I am protective of those I love. I choose to see the best in people. When I say that I love you, I mean that, and I am not ashamed. Above all else, I have faith in love. I believe in the power and strength of love in many forms.
I am strong. I am a survivor. I have overcome a lot, and I've learned the lessons well.
I am disabled due to chronic and severe health problems -- most notably, multiple sclerosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). I am a Type I diabetic who is on an insulin pump. "Disabled" isn't a shameful word, nor (to me) does it mean that I lack ability. When you become "disabled," you adapt. You learn. You find a purpose... and you will likely (and hopefully) find people who lift you up and help you to keep on going. I have, and I am grateful to so many (including my LJ-friends) for that. Words can't express how much you mean in my life.
I love to laugh! I have a wicked wit and sense of humour, and I love to surround myself with people who pride themselves on the same. (see all of my LJ-friends? Take your pick!)
Joyful living is a choice, and I choose to embrace it in my life.
Oh yeah... I love Ralphie Parker and A Christmas Story. Get to know me, and you might understand.
Play nice, and don't take yourself (or me) too seriously.
In Loving Memory of Deputy Brandon (Brandy) L. Winfield

We will never forget.
My journal is now Friends-Only, but I am likely to add anyone who requests to be friended. Comment in the first entry on my journal. Thanks!
