Answer, to a limited extent: jingoistic patriotism, xenophobic populism, theories of speech as a “harm” demanding “duties of care”, state-mandated enumeration of citizens in doomed attempts to negate online anonymity, and attempts to limit or censor access to apps and websites and content.

Not “people in the coffee shop may be spying on your banking details” stuff. That was 20 years ago.
