Elevator modernization is something you should be able to plan for and see coming. As equipment ages, parts and support becoming increasingly harder to find. A standard elevator lifetime is typically 20 to 25 years before requiring a major alteration or modernization. You may start to notice a decrease in ride quality and more frequent breakdowns of equipment, these are tell-tale signs to start planning for a modernization.
