ONE VOICE FOR BETTER HEALTH THROUGH RESEARCH

The Australian Health Research Alliance (AHRA) facilitates the integration of healthcare, health and medical research, and health professional education to deliver better health outcomes for all Australians.

About AHRA

The Australian Health Research Alliance (AHRA) is the voice of 12 National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) accredited Research Translation Centres and 2 Emerging Research Translation Centres across Australia.

Each centre is a partnership of multiple health services, research centres and universities. Collectively, AHRA’s members encompass more than 90% of researchers and 86% of acute health care services across Australia.

Together AHRA seeks to accelerate the pace and scale of research translation into health care and community health.

AHRA’s scale and reach creates a significant opportunity for coordinated national action in response to national and state health priorities. AHRA is uniquely positioned to address unmet needs in health care by helping researchers work with health care providers and consumers to deliver evidence-based care that offers better outcomes, best value and better health equity.

AHRA Health Research Hub

Consumer and community involvement in health and medical research and healthcare improvement has just been made easier with the launch of the Australian Health Research Alliance’s Health Research Hub.
The Hub is funded by the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) and was generated through evidence synthesis and research, and coproduced with consumers at every stage. It offers access to practical, high-quality resources and tools for researchers, consumers, community members and healthcare professionals.

Our Commitment

AHRA is committed to ensuring Australia’s health system is fully informed by quality health and medical research. In partnership with our community, we are researching and working to develop ways to improve access, services, systems and health outcomes.

We are striving for equity in healthcare provision and delivery while translating research into practice.

Working through AHRA, the 12 NHMRC-accredited Research Translation Centres across Australia are in a unique position to transcend State and Territory boundaries and improve systems of care and treatment in order to benefit all Australians.

Together, we are working to solve some of our
greatest healthcare challenges.
