The AFI Backlot is a platform exclusive to the American Film Institute Conservatory community to support alumni networking and professional development. Continue your AFI story in the Backlot by: - finding people, events and jobs - getting updates on your professional industry and interests - growing your network The mobile application provides all the benefits of the web platform, but with the ease and convenience of accessing the features from your mobile phone. Features: Connections: Search for alumni by location, company, experience and more. See alumni who are near you in real time. Connect your AFI Backlot account with your Facebook or LinkedIn profile for added exposure and networking. Events: Be up-to-date on everything happening at AFI. Have an upcoming event, film screening or crowdfunding campaign you want the AFI community to know about? Add it to the Events calendar. Resources: Access aggregated resources and relevant filmmaking articles. Share useful tools with fellow alumni. Groups: Join a group based on your class year, discipline or interest, or create your own group within the AFI community. Jobs: Access hundreds of job listings, including those that arrive straight to the AFI offices and available exclusively on the Backlot. Need to hire AFI interns or alumni for a project? Upload opportunities directly to the database. Mentorships: Share your skills and expertise and provide mentorship to a current Fellow or alumni. Or utilize the network to find a mentor for yourself, no matter where you are on your career path list what areas you are looking to grow professionally for potential mentors to connect with opportunities. The AFI Backlot is available only for graduates of the AFI Conservatory or AFI Conservatory Directing Workshop for Women program, and currently enrolled Fellows. If you are signing up for an AFI Backlot account for the first time, please note that you will not be able to fully access the app s features until your status is manually verified by an AFI Backlot administrator (please allow up to 48 hours). You will receive an email notification when your account has been officially activated.
