Can't seem to get back in the swing of posting. Missed too many birthdays to count and replying to replies and letting people know how much I appreciate you all. Reading almost every day for a few minutes before work, but I so wish DW had a phone app.
I bring a little of my work home everyday (not really supposed to but sometime evaluating and lesson planning fall by the wayside if you can only get it done at naptime along with the cleaning and maybe someone can't sleep etc. My co teacher hurt her back shortly before we teamed up and can't really do much sooo...
A couple of weeks ago I posted on how much I love my job, it really is all about the kids and the staff is wonderful.
The director came in my room the other day to talk to me and you know that feeling "Oh, Lord what did I do?" she said she wanted to offer me a CDL position which is what I was at the other centers. She told me I was gonna get a little extra training (usually front desk and closing stuff) the same as I did before just a few extra duties. Then she dropped the bomb...a $4 per hour increase. Wow, I'm figuring when does my training start lets get this show on the road! Right?
It was already in my check for the last pay period!
I can't tell you how that made me feel after working in a center that could only find fault and discourage so they didn't have to give a $.50 increase yearly.
I would have happily kept working here for the wage I was receiving, but to feel so appreciated is amazing.
Now our curriculum coordinator gave me homework...I'm to watch Dr Horrible's Sing Along Blog this weekend... yep those are the people I work with.

 Yesterday Marked the 51 year anniversary of the Good Friday Earthquake.
Our new Governor has named March 27, 2015 “1964 Alaskan Earthquake Remembrance Day.”
I was pretty young but I still remember that day! Probably  the scariest 5 minutes of my life at the time.

Most Awesome 12 days ever!

As you may or may not have seen in my work post, our Child Development Center is closing as another cdc bought the buildings.So I filled out the application I was given, updated my resume and turned it all over with the release so they could get my finger print report, background check, last pay stub and whatever they wanted or needed from my files.
The lady from the other center came in Wednesday to conduct interviews with the permission of our director and was very nice.She  said that they want to keep as much staff as would stay, but remember new company, think of ourselves as new hires that all goes without saying, but was VERY vague on pay.
So that night after our tear filled last staff meeting, I submitted an application on line to another center.
The next day the other center called me at work to set up an interview.  (Seems one of our managers is going back there.)  I made an appointment for the 26th to go to the other center for an interview.  In the mean time I got an offer from the new cdc taking over for $1 an hour less than I make now (that's what they pay their cdas), but they pay $100 bonuses to the leads every month... this all comes with a 3 month probationary "training" period. So are they just using us to start up the new center because they can't man it  until they can replace us all with their lower paid employees or do they really want us? They seem genuine enough that I plan on staying, but now I have this interview next Friday.
I'm really conflicted because ultimately it's about the kids and the families many of which we're losing because the new center won't take part time children, so these families have less than two weeks notice to find childcare by the 2nd. I really don't want to leave my friends at the center  (more like family) and the kids but it seems so heartless the way this is being handled. I have a hard time understanding why they couldn't accommodate these families for a couple of months till they could place their children some place else .
I have some real soul searching to do over the holidays. I know the center where I applied will at least meet or exceed my present pay, but my children will need support during this transition. I told the other center I wouldn't be available till  after the 20th of January .
So there's the now what.
On the other hand Merry Christmas at least we have some choices!

This is one of our very favorite movies for Christmas even with the huge error. But who cares right?





I considered embedding the whole movie but the songs are what  I've been trying to do... and the movie is easy to find on YouTube anyway.
Maybe the companion movie tomorrow...
 

I don't normally hold with all the Friday the 13th stuff, but good grief how many things can go wrong in one day.
I was over ratio right from the beginning of the day but fortunately got a floater so not so bad really. Monday is moving day for a few of my kids which means I'll be getting new ones from the 2s class with all their stuff to be put in the cubbies. Many things to get done during naptime and not usually a problem. By 1:00 all my kids save two were snoozing nicely the one I was putting to sleep was just closing her pretty little eyes to nap when the fire alarm went off. Piercing screech to wake up the dead and 12 toddlers. Grabbed kids roster and coats and Tusi (my current TA) and I shuffled twelve half asleep and hysterical 2year olds out into the melting snowy playground.
Evidently the management were having some problem child running around and he pulled the fire alarm...Charming.
Nap-time a total not happening today event, after that and the rest of the day? No nap toddlers fighting crying screaming and resisting all attempts at calm and peace.
Thank God it was Friday.
Also, at my house 9 people an infant and a dog. I need a vacation.

Oh yeah! The better news is I got rid of my Suburban troop transport and got a 2006 Buick Rainier! 3 year warranty and has everything but butt warmers as the grumpy guy calls them.Even seat adjustment and mirror memory.
When ever I find my card reader I'll upload pix. I am sooo happy, all the doors work and everything is pretty and shiny deep metal flake Garnet Red.

After getting up at the butt-crack of dawn and spending 5 hours at the hospital for a outpatient procedure that took an hour I am home sans mediport!
I am gladly closing the book on this chapter of my life. I just wanted to send hugs to my f-list for being there with support and just plain being there this last year.
Love you all sooo much... and can you tell I am still a little under the influence here?*g*
