Colour Actions Decrapified + Reference Images

Something that I have been intending to do for quite some time...

...or rather, was asked of me aaaages ago, and it's only now I've got around to doing so *blush*. It wasn't as irritating as I thought it would be, once I quit re-building them in a stupidly slow manner.

(Also it was a chance to get rid of the embarassingly stupid mess that lay beneath the surface. What the hell was I thinking with that?)

These *should* work right down to Ye Olde PS 6 as I've managed to avoid using any of the tools that changed throughout the versions, but as I no longer have any older versions to test on, this is entirely theoretical.

And even if you don't have an old version of Photoshop you should download these. I've tweaked some of the colours and hopefully burninated some of the worst pixelisation.

Under here, because the pictures are hugeCollapse )

Loot Redux

As mentioned here by Pooklet, the skull on the original mesh, did not play nice with shaved alphas. At least in shape anyway. So I replaced Nouk's skull with the original maxis skull, and Pooklet, being the delightful person she is, editted the result so that the hair sat properly on the new skull.

So yes. This is merely a mesh replacment, you'll still need somebody's textures for this to work (mine or Nymphy's will work) and you will need to delete the original mesh. DELETE IT. Or else it will not work.

I'm also working on a female version for this, I think it'll look pretty good :P

I wish...

...that somebody would either add, or tell me that it exists, and how to enable it, this...

...shiney little feature in Milkshape. Seriously. Please?

(Basically what it does, is turn that entire layer into a reference layer, which locks it entirely and makes it utterly unselectable, which means no more inadvertent selecting and moving of vertices that should not be movied. It is fantastic. If it is possible in Milkshape and I am an arse who has never encountered it, please, tell me so that I might abuse it to hell and back.)

I will upload those togs tonight, soon as I have dinner, and stop whining about goddamn midge bites. Argh.

Those dammned shirts
aeliaa
:) That everyone has been after, and I have been too damn lazy to share.

So, to make up for it, I recoloured the shit out of it. Really recoloured the shit out of it.

Oh yes

So, Toy Story in 3D was absolutely fantastic. Wow. I've never seen *that* amount of detail in those movies before, and I watch them on DVD rather often. Well worth the obscene price it was to go see it :D The friend I went with seems to think that they're thinking of releasing some of the other ones in 3D too, which would be great. I would love to see the Incredibles again.

It was great seeing it too, just as a kind of arse-boot to get back into animation. This is definately what I want to do with my life - though perhaps more with the 2D than the 3D, I enjoy that more - and there is going to be one of my films up there on the shiny big screen with the kickarse sound. Yes.

(only I doubt I would be able to watch it with any form of enjoyment - be too busy picking out flaws XD)

And because you don't want to listen to me blather on about my life, have some works in progress.

This wayCollapse )

The things you find...
aeliaa
When looking for pixel patterns in the morass that is one's portable harddrive. (Seriously, there is so much shit on that thing it's not funny)

A few years ago I used to be really into pixeling stuff. I wasn't too good at it, but it was fun and strangely relaxing. In the afore mentioned hunt, I came across a couple of things I hadn't deleted.

Blast from the Past...or somesuch rubbishCollapse )

Oh hai, awesome stuff
aeliaa
So it seems a bunch of people have been using my actions lately, which makes me really quite incredibly happy.

Nilou's added some much needed shading on some Fakepeep's outfits (a jumper and a skirt) and recoloured them in a few of my colours

Simgaroop, apart from being generally awesome, has done some (Maxis Match) hair in them here. (She's also created a monster, I am definately thinking of adding a few colours to any hair retextures I release in the future :D )

And finally Bagfran has recoloured the frames of the fabled BV collectable poster mesh in said colours here

(I know there's been some others recently, but I cannot for the life of me remember who or where - I haven't left you out on purpose or anything, so if I've forgotten you, give me a kick up the arse and I'll add you here)

In other news, it's stinking hot still, I have a little stuff I need to post, and I am seeing Toy Story 1 & 2 with a friend on Thursday. In 3D. I am seriously hoping that it's awesome, I love Toy Story (though am worried about the new one) and I've not seen a 3D film since I was eight or nine (and even then it was a dodgy Sea World job)

ALSO. Dear Yahoo, emails regarding comments on DW are NOT SPAM. Emails from people trying to convince me that wealthy and non-existant relatives have popped their clogs in exotic places ARE. Get it right please?

DEAR CROCHET
aeliaa
...why on earth are stitches in Australian books and patterns named differently from stitches in US and UK patterns? Why is a HDC in US terms a half treble here? This is incredibly annoying, particularly when one has been ripping one's hair out over why a particular pattern will not turn out?

No love,

Me.
