Training & Certification Center

Course categories include Weatherization, Multifamily Buildings, Certification, and Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) training—designed to support housing professionals and contractors working on state-funded projects administered through New York State Homes and Community Renewal programs.
Clean Energy Resource Center
Our specialized courses cover the latest clean energy technologies and prepare you to upgrade and manage your property efficiently. You’ll also gain a solid understanding of key state laws and regulations, with a focus on California and New York. Whether you’re aiming for full electrification or pursuing other decarbonization goals, our expert-led training will guide you every step of the way.
Weatherization
AEA is a national Weatherization Training Center delivering training and technical assistance consistent with the new Workforce Guidelines of the US Department of Energy (DOE), which include Standard Work Specifications and accredited curricula for workers to be trained and certified as energy auditors, installers, crew chiefs, and inspectors.
As a Weatherization Training and Technical Assistance provider, AEA provides a variety of courses and services. AEA has been funded by New York State Homes and Community Renewal as a technical services provider and training center supporting Weatherization.
Hands On Training
Gain real-world skills with in-person training at our 30,000 sq. ft. energy efficiency training center. Our facility is fully equipped with advanced tools and technologies to support hands-on learning in key areas such as:

• Weatherization techniques
• Air sealing and insulation
• HVAC systems and diagnostics
