To answer your question about inserting Smart Photoshop or RealMedia objects into an HTML page using Adobe GoLive CS on Windows XP, follow these steps:

  1. Open Your Project: Launch Adobe GoLive and open your existing project or create a new HTML page where you want to insert your objects.

  2. Insert Photoshop Objects:

    • First, make sure you have saved your Photoshop file in a web-compatible format such as JPEG, PNG, or GIF.
    • In GoLive, use the "Objects" palette. Drag the image icon to the desired location on your page.
    • In the "Inspector" palette, use the "Source" field to browse and select your Photoshop file.
  3. Insert RealMedia Objects:

    • The RealMedia file should be ready and properly encoded for web usage.
    • Go to the location on your webpage where you want to insert the RealMedia object.
    • Use the "Objects" palette to locate the "Media" section and drag a placeholder for media files onto your page.
    • In the "Inspector" palette, enter the path to your RealMedia file in the "Source" field.

Remember to save your project after making these changes. Also, ensure that all linked media files are uploaded to your web server along with your HTML files for them to display correctly online.

Adobe GoLive 9 is a discontinued web development application. Given that you're planning to use it on a Windows Server 2003 R2 system, you should ensure that your system meets the necessary requirements for running Adobe GoLive 9. As it is an older software, consider the following steps:

  1. Installation:

    • Obtain a copy of Adobe GoLive 9 which may involve using old installation media or reaching out to a platform that provides older software.
  2. System Compatibility:

    • Make sure your Dell PowerEdge server runs Windows Server 2003 R2 with the necessary updates to support older software like Adobe GoLive 9.
  3. Set-Up:

    • Install the software following the installation wizard.
    • Configure your server settings to host and manage websites. This may involve setting up IIS (Internet Information Services) to serve your web pages if you are serving websites from this server.
  4. Building and Managing Sites:

    • Use Adobe GoLive’s interface to create your web pages. The interface supports drag-and-drop editing, templates, and quick integration of multimedia elements.
  5. Update and Compatibility:

    • Be aware that there may be limitations and security vulnerabilities with outdated software. Consider upgrading to more modern software for enhanced features and security.
  6. Documentation and Support:

    • As it is an older software, official support from Adobe is not available. Consider using community forums or archived documentation for additional help.

Keep in mind the security risks associated with using outdated software, and consider modern, supported alternatives if possible.

This is officially CANCELLED. It is not possible to release a new product available anymore. Unfortunately, Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 (successor to the discontinued GoLive 9) was officially released for both and Windows in 2007.
