Andreia Garcia
Assistant Professor (EAAD)
Andreia Garcia is an architect, curator, researcher and professor, holding a PhD from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon, awarded the Manuel Tainha Prize for the best doctoral thesis in Architecture in 2015. Her work addresses architectural and spatial practices in an era shaped by accelerated technological change and an escalating ecological crisis, exploring the intersections between architecture, territory, material cultures and ecological transition.
She has taught at the Architectural Association in London and at the University of Beira Interior, where she lectured for nearly a decade and served as Vice-President of the Faculty of Engineering. In 2023, she curated the official Portuguese representation at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia with Fertile Futures, which discussed and proposed strategies for the management, protection and transformation of freshwater, contributing to a shared and global debate through a situated focus on the Portuguese territory.
