I LOVE this thread...my all time favorites are:
1. Jennifer Holliday's version of the Robert Winters & Fall - "Magic Man". I found her version 15 years ago. Its on the original soundtrack for the movie "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka". This CD was in the bargain bin for 1.99 and although I love the Robert Winters version when I heard it on the quiet storm format, Jennifer's version sends chills through my body..That's how good it is.
