Two: Too New?

A brief Encounter
A chance meeting of Like Minds
They discuss their lives

They seem to do well
These two hearts beating soundly
Across miles of time

Nights spent together
One more special than the rest
A timely absence

Futures are Discussed
How will the two’s tale conclude?
No one is alone.

A Late Conversation

Poetry can say
But poets can never know
The pure righteous truth.

Am I a failure
For letting you go? Or am
I fooling myself?

We are both the fools
Love made me blind, and you deaf
We are but children

When I dream tonight
Promise you’ll visit me so
I can feel again

Soulless I have been
Unable to think, breathe, feel
And even to dream.

Silent Night

Silent victory
A Night filled with promises
Kept and held Faithful

Laughter does not stain
Nor any voices proclaim
This joyous refrain

Unbridled Hope springs
Flowing forth in quiet mirth
And humbly I smile.

Sinful Pride

Is it wrong of me
To rejoice, smile and perform?
Shall I be morose?

From sorrow sprang grace
This was not my victory
Who, then, shall be glad?

Is it arrogance,
This feeling that drives me on?
Or something less vile?

Humble, I have been
But today, pride-stained am I
My ego bellows

A lion is pride
A lamb is humility
And I merely grass.

The Theatre

Ah the Theatre!
Magical and Marvelous
The best spent ev’nings

Ah the Theatre!
Fun, Full of Frivolity
Nights of wonder, Yes

Ah the Theatre!
Glorious and bygone days
Friendships stay the time

Ah the Theatre!
Rehearse! Block! Prepare! Perform!
All the world’s your stage

A Friendly Disagreement

Two men of like mind
Took journeys into Debate
On subjects of God

Life Lives and men breathe
Can this be Coincidence?
So much Random chance?

God? A pretty thought
In practice, Dim, Impotent
Better thoughts have I

Thoughts are effortless
‘Tis rightfully so they be
God makes Gifts of them

Imaginary
Frivolous Children’s Whimsy
It cannot hold true

How else to Explain
A Truth of Nature be Life
Gladly, I believe

Pale, petty, pointless
Proving pitifully plain
Pray’rs paint no pictures

sadness, to Me
You choose not to share my light?
Your Paintings are Dark

Be not dissuaded
Follow no path but your own
‘Tis what makes you great.

Two men of like mind
Took journeys into Debate
On subjects of God
