Between recovering from near death via poison, two very fussy boys, a quietly fussy brother and sister, and Madsen standing in the background observing it all with a wry grin on her face, Rukia spent her birthday wishing she was dead...er. Deader. Eventually she summoned the strength to shout at Ichigo and Shiro (it was the only way she could be heard) was that she wanted some juice and sleep and she couldn't do either when they were
hovering. In the end, she spent about 19 hours sleeping, waking intermittently with chills and fever as her body flushed the last of the toxins from her system that Tsunade-san didn't extract. Both she and Unohana-taichou looked her over and proclaimed her out of the woods, but she needed rest.
When she's finally awake for more than just the time it took to turn over, throw off or pull up the covers depending on what side of the barometer her body was on, she yawns and stretches and stands up. Rubbing the crust from her eyes, she pulls on slippers and, cautiously, pokes her head out of her sleeping cubicle. She was ridiculously hungry and thirsty and she wanted a bath, even if it was with cold water from the tap.
