Went to Universal Studios today. Wasn't really in the mood because I can't stand waiting around in queues for rides, especially when I'm with my family. It's not them, it's me. I just become really intolerant >> Anyway, went on Shrek 4D, Revenge of the Mummy, Men in Black and the Terminator rides. The Mummy one was definitely the best.

Universal Studios

We walked back through the shops and my parents and brother bought some Universal souvenirs and stuff. I just wanted to get back home :P

We were heading to Universal Studios today but we decided to spend the day by the pool and head to the park tomorrow. I managed to take loads of pictures but couldn't decide which ones would be best without embarrassing my family :P I decided to go with one of my brother looking drowned:

I still haven't decided whether or not I want to go Universal tomorrow or not but I think I'd better go if I want to live past the end of this week ^^;;

I've merged some posts because of the rubbish connection at the hotel not allowing me to upload photos. This is one post about the trip to Marco Island over the weekend. Not a great deal happened other than swimming in the pool and walking along the beach :D Here are some photos:

Image

Above is the view from my balcony. I don't think I've ever stayed so close to the sea before and it was an awesome sight in the morning. The beach started from about 10m from the bottom of the building but I was just too high off the ground to jump ^^

Image

This was just below and to the right of my balcony. Like most things in the hotel, it was super clean looking and just made you want to dive in. Unfortunately, this was a kid's pool and not the hot tub I originally thought.

Image

This was the view from the actual hot tub looking back onto one of the swimming pools. The one we went to on the first day was a lot smaller and shallower while this was a little deeper and there were more ladies present :D I am a single male after all so it was all good. I got a few smiles but that was it ^^;;

I woke up after 9:30am for the first time in a couple of months today which then caused me to be even more tired than I usually am in the mornings. Then, just as I turned on the MacBook, we get a knock at the door and the maid wants to come in and tidy the room. I knew I should have put the sign on the door last night when I remembered >> Anyway, because me and my brother are staying in a separate room to my parents, we came out and ate breakfast with them while the maid finished up. The weather was a bit overcast along the beach which was a bit annoying but in the end it turned out to be for the best because it meant that it wasn't melting hot while we were in the pool or walking along the beach.

We stayed in the swimming pool for about two and a half hours before heading back up to the room and getting some lunch. I could have stayed in the pool for another few hours because I just enjoy swimming back and forth under water ^^ As long as I have a pair of goggles which fit without sucking out my eyes, then I'm perfectly happy. Walking along the beach later on was really hot and sore on the feet because of the sharp shells and sand but it definitely smoothes the soles of your feet and now that I've put some cream on, they feel pretty great. Over the past few days I've started to peel on my back but not in that gross way :P It's more of a healthy renewal of skin.

We're travelling back to Orlando tomorrow morning so we'll be getting some dinner a bit later and then heading to bed. I don't plan on going to bed much at all tonight because I want to bum around on the 'net for a bit. I'm looking forward to getting back to the resort where the Internet is better and there's more to do. It'll be a shame to leave the view though because it certainly is something to see in the morning when you wake up :)

I'd like to start this post by making a mention of Mac OS X Leopard. Only this afternoon did I find out that it's being released on the 26th, the day I travel back home. I checked and I can still get it through the Apple Education Store which will save me £10 :D I had a quick look through the 300+ new features and it looks like it'll be well worth my £75. Anyway, back to my holiday ^^;;

Started off my day with a glass of Gatorade 'Fierce' which is a totally unnatural colour of blue. In fact, I would liken it to some bathroom cleaner or blue sorbet ice cream ^^;; Still, it tastes good and seeing as no-one else in the family likes it, I get to drink it all :D

We went out searching for the garage to fix the tyre on the 'Durango' but it's a bit closer to Disneyland than we realised and all the signs caused a bit of confusion. It didn't take long to fix the tyre and then we left for the outlet mall.

Image

To be honest, I was disappointed with the outlet mall. There wasn't really that much stuff of interest and it was really quiet. I'm hoping we can get back to the Florida Mall at some point so that I can get into the Apple store and buy a power adapter. Having said that, the Apple site says there's an Apple store at Waterside Shops in Naples. We can go down on the way to Marco Island where we're spending the weekend.

Another lazy day today. My dad and brother went down to the pool early for a morning swim while my mum and I just relaxed. She slept and I did my usual morning Internet check and listened to some music. One of the tyres on our Dodge Durango deflated and someone came out to change it for the spare, but now we need it to be fixed and swapped back with the normal tyre for our long drive to Marco Island over the weekend. We phoned the rental company and they told us we could go to the local Wal-Mart and get the tyre changed. I'd never been to a Wal-Mart before today and was quite excited but it really wasn't that exciting. Big, but not that exciting xD

pic

Apparently our tyre is "special" and so we have to go somewhere else to get it done. The place couldn't get the tyre in for today so we have to go back tomorrow morning. Not really a problem because I wanted to get back and laze around in the apartment and sort out my pictures that I'd taken over the past few days. Mum, dad and brother went down to the pool to sit in the sun and have a swim while I stayed in the apartment and watched The Food Network :D We've got a good view of the pool from our apartment so I thought I'd take some paparazzi pictures.

Lots more lazing around when they got back and then some pasta for dinner. I know when you go on holiday it's nice to get out and enjoy the different surroundings but there are times when it's just nice to relax and not do anything ^^ We headed down to the pool later in the evening to take advantage of the cooler temperature and quieter pool. Shopping tomorrow so more pictures and hopefully some shiney new toys :D

Firstly, this post is a day late because I was shattered when I got in last night and I'm also lazy >> Anyways, yesterday was a pool day and we messed around with the ball for a while an then did some general swimmings. After a couple of hours we came out and went back to the apartment for lunch before heading out to the Florida Mall specifically to find an Apple store. I went in and got myself an iPod touch and then we walked round for the rest of the family to spend their monies. On the way back we stopped in at a seafood restaurant for some dinner. My stomach wasn't feeling good enough to go for crab or lobster like I wanted, so I ended up eating a burger and onion rings ^^;; It wasn't long after we got back that we all went to bed. I stayed up a bit longer to sync my iPod and give it a charge.

Now I'm sorry for not uploading any photos as yet but I'm having trouble doing so using this connection. I'll probably do it later on this afternoon or just wait until the end of the week and upload the best picture from each day :) To tide you over, here's a video tour of the apartment:
