22lookup1.3
Publisher Description
Just Added: New Click Interface (GUI) to simplify functionality. Try it!
For the Jewish learner of Talmud Bavli, 22Lookup performs searches in
Shas, Rashi, Tosfos, Tanach, and some Meforshim. Intuitive usage of
Ain Mishpat Ner Mitzvah to bring up Rambam, Tur, Shulchan Aruch, and
Smag. Gematria searches of Tanach.
DEVELOPMENT STATUS
Although more than three years of "spare" time has been devoted to the
compilation of 22Lookup, it is still very much a work in
progress. Dictionary lookups, incorporation of additional Masechtot to
Ain Mishpat Ner Mitzvah, and many new features are still on the
drawing board but have not been included in the coding due to time
constraints. Nevertheless, it is believed that a sufficient core of
features is now manifest and with this array of functions it is hoped
that a user base will develop which will itself suggest directions for
further growth.
DESIGN GOALS
For the learner of Talmud Bavli, many times it is desirable to view
the complete pasuk and its context rather than the fragment provided
in the Blatt. Similarly, viewing an Amud in a different Masechta or
searching for a phrase in Rashi or Tosfos is also beneficial. These
activities take time and are sometimes not performed due to the
intensity of learning. 22Lookup aims to provide maximum return with
minimal time investment to assist the learner.
A manual is included which is packed with examples in hopes that the
user is able to quickly master the man-machine interface and speedily
begin reaping benefits.
