2009 Scrapbook

So - I know I totally abandoned this community only a few months into the year, but life got crazy with full time classes and a full time job.

BUT! I have started

2009_scrapbook for those interested in keeping one for 2009.

If you guys still wanna do the contest like I had started last year - let me know. I will need about 2 other MODs that will be committed to helping though (ie: running the contests and keeping the master list updated)

+ Remember, the scrapbook doesn't have to be fully unlocked to be nominated or voted for. We are only looking at the design, originality and how much it has been updated. The links contained in the scrapbook don't need to be unlocked posts.

Nom!

I have decided to make 2 changes for this months contest. Please only nominate 3 people, and I will only keep the polls (when it comes time for voting) open for two weeks.

I am now opening up nominations for best scrapbook FOR MARCH. You can find the list of scrapbooks here.

To nominate someone, just reply to this post with the person's username. Please keep your nominations limited to 3 people at most. When nominating, take into account the style, uniqueness, how much it's been updated, etc etc. The actual linked content doesn't matter. Semi-friends only scrapbooks are okay for nominations~

Nominations will close on friday, and on saturday I'll post a poll and you can all vote.

The winner of each month gets not only a banner, but a $10 LJ Gift Certificate.

+Just to clarify for future reference, you're scrapbook doesn't have to be fully unlocked to be nominated. We are only looking at your design, and how much you have updated it. If your actual scrapbook is locked, and you want to be included in the monthly contest, please read this post. If your scrapbook is public (or semi-friends only), then you are good to go!

Please vote for only one person. There are two polls b/c I couldn't fit everyone in one poll, so please don't over look those in the 2nd poll. Feel free to ask non members of this community to vote. Please dont ask people to vote for you. Polls close at the end of the month. Congrats to the noms!

Locked Scrapbooks

One of the members just brought up a good point. How is the contest fair to those of you who have locked scrapbooks?
Unfortunately, I didn't think of this problem until after I had already posted the first poll, and since one person has already won, I want to give everyone a chance to win (also it's good motivation for keeping up with with your scrapbooks).

So I have two solutions. (and I'm open to others if anyone else has any suggestions).
1- Take a screencap of your scrapbook, and reply with it in a comment (you can blur out parts of there's stuff you don't want anyone to read) You can use Thumbalizr to cap the whole page.

2- You can unlock your scrapbook for a few days and leave them open during noms and voting. I feel bad asking you guys to do this, so I suggest doing #1.

Of course, participation in the contest is always optional, so if you don't want to be included, you don't have to do either. I'm just trying to think of the best way to make this fair to everyone.
