FAQs
Is there an event I can participate in?
During 2010 and 2015, we asked you to join one large event with thousands of people in it. This year, we are making it easier for you to participate wherever you are.
How do I form a Lavender Ribbon?
Form a Lavender Ribbon in any way you like. Gather people – whether family, friends, classmates or colleagues – wearing lavender to shape an awareness ribbon; or bring it to life creatively by drawing, painting, designing it digitally, or by assembling lavender-colored objects or natural elements. You can form more than one Lavender Ribbon.
Does it have to be lavender?
Yes. Lavender is the color that represents all cancers.
How can I show my support and engage with the initiative?
We suggest you post photos and videos of your Lavender Ribbons on your social media channels with a caption highlighting your commitment to being your own health champion. Tag @10KSA2025 and use #10KSA.
Who can participate?
Everyone. We’re calling on men and women of all ages to take charge of their health – and inspire others to do the same.
When/where is the campaign happening?
It is taking place on December 8. We want you to take part, wherever you are.
What if I’m unavailable on December 8 – can I still participate?
You can prepare your Lavender Ribbon and take a photo of it or film it in advance. On December 8, share the photo or video on your social media with your caption on how you are taking charge of your health. Tag @10KSA2025 and use #10KSA.
What is 10KSA’s aim?
To bring everyone together to raise awareness for cancer prevention and early detection through regular check-ups and screenings, and adopting healthier lifestyles.
Is there a cost to participate in 10KSA’s campaign?
There are no costs to participating. 10KSA encourages everyone to participate, and our creative suggestions (see our Toolkits) make it easy for you to form a Lavender Ribbon.
How can I learn more about cancer prevention?
Speak to your doctor if you have any health concerns. See our Fact Sheets for preventative health measures. If you are located in Saudi Arabia, you can also visit the Ministry of Health website for more information.
