A long time due update is finally here! Don't get too excited though, I only have six GOF icons to present. But pray be happy till my issues with the computer are over. Photoshop is screwing me over, totally. There's something weird going on; as soon as I try to view any pictures my computer goes all bonkers. Anyhoo...the icons...

I'm not dead. My term just started in Uni this week, and I just finished moving in at the halls. This is the first time I've had a chance to sit down and think about what I need to do with my websites.
Do not worry, the thinking does not include closing anything. Nor does it mean I won't update. This is just a short notice to let you know that I am present, and that there will be updates. I just don't know when.
Obviously I won't have time to update very often, but I will strive to update every month with a batch of things I've done during my time off of assignments and projects. I study video media arts, so most of the work is practical and takes me away from my computer, but there will be updates! Goodness, I enjoy making icons too much to let uni deprive me of one of the few things I love doing.
So, be on the look out for icons, I might well be updating this weekend already, who knows? Especially as we get closer to the premiere date of Goblet of Fire a lot of new and gorgeous pictures are popping up, and who am I to resist such an open invitation to make icons? ;)
Now I must sleep so I'll manage getting up tomorrow today.

A random batch of Goblet of Fire icons, of completely different, experimental styles. Ordered alphabetically by file-name, which would explain the odd order.

[ EDIT: ] One icon accidentally got dropped in my save, and I only just noticed. It has been rectified now, and the lonesome icon is in the batch as well. So if you read fourteen icons somewhere, and see fifteen instead, this is why.

Just to assure you, I am working on a batch of GOF at the moment. But after having done these lovelies and capped the new GOF trailer (98 caps!!), not one of the GOF ones came out the way I wanted them to. Must face defeat this once. That is, until I get some sleep.

So this tutorial is fairly simple, doesn't have *that* many layers, but plays a lot with subtle changes. The most important part is the beginning, so listen up! :)
We're going to be making this:
NB: This tutorial is for Photoshop 7. I expect you to know the tools on the toolbox, but will guide you to the right filters and adjustment-settings.

Well, because I'm at school with Photoshop 5.5 and none of my images/gradients/brushes, I decided I'd make MORE brushes. Photoshop 5.5 brushes work on every later version of Photoshop, but unfortunately not vice versa. So I can't make icons during the week, because most of the downloadables on the 'net are Photoshop 7 and above. Boohoo. Thus, I waste time by making brushes. Which is why you might see a lot of brush posts. But more icons on the weekend!
