Rome, Italy
The Trevi Fountain is definitely one of my favourite places in Rome and I remember that during my first time there I was lucky enough to pass by everyday on my way to the hotel. It represents the largest Baroque fountain in the city. A traditional legend holds that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they are ensured a return to Rome (I’m not sure if it was the coin but I did return!) and it is estimated that 3,000 euros are thrown into the fountain each day.
.
It is one of my favourite places in Rome especially as the sun sets and the golden light softens the colours.
Great Video, I Reposted it on “The Dark Globe”, and Linked it back to you

Amazing photos from an amazing place : Fontana di Trevi 🙂
I can never decide if I would love or hate this city, but I need to see it for myself.
You do need go see it for yourself. I always wanted to visit Athens before Rome because I always found the ancient Greek so much more interesting than the Romans. Well, I haven’t been to Athens yet and I’ve visited Rome twice. I’m not sure if it was because I didn’t have that many expectations but I really enjoyed the city and I have to admit not only that Romans did a pretty great work there but also that its descendants continued make Italy’s capital a very special city. Rome was pleasant surprise and I just hope I find Athens just as beautiful (when I visit it)
Gorgeous Fountain! Have a Great Weekend:)
Great place to people watch as well
You’re absolutely right!
that looks amazing! i also heard that apparently the money they collect from the fountain is donated to charities! do you think that true?? it would be so nice if it was!
Yes allegedly the money is for charity.. I hope that’s at least partially true =)
I threw a coin in the Trevi Fountain on my first visit to Rome, too… and I married an Italian and moved to Rome. It worked! : )
It worked pretty well, then 😀
Nice!
That fountain is a little money maker. I wonder if anybody tries to do a little surreptitious hunting for gold. Virginia
Well, I’m sure some try to go for the coins..
I also love Trevi–and I’m not superstitious, but I love Rome more than any place I’ve ever been, so I’m always make sure to throw a coin or two in to ensure I’ll come back 🙂
Yeah I totally get you.. I made sure throw a coin too, just in case 😛
