Directed by Steven Spielberg, Catch Me If You Can tells the true story of Frank Abagnale Jr. – a man (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) who, even before his 19th birthday, had successfully conned millions of dollars.
In his series Films of Meaning DarkJade has already mentioned Steven Spielberg in his Amistad review so by now you’re conversant with this director’s amazing work. Moreover, his last review was The Aviator in which Leonardo DiCaprio also did a brilliant work. Well, inspired by both his reviews I thought I should share this film with you.
Considering most of you who watched this film remember its opening title sequence (I know I do because I find it very amusing) I’ll make a quick reference to Motion Design which is a subset of graphic design where graphic design principles are used in a filmmaking or video production context through the use of animation or filmic techniques. More about this in Spectretown.

It’s a brilliant film

Thisw movie has been sitting on my must see list for a while – it is time to pull it off the shelf. I had no idea Christopher Walken was in it…

It’s a great film! 🙂 Great post Ana 🙂
Definitely a great title sequence… a nice homage to ‘Saul Bass’ – Also loved that scene with DiCaprio and Jennifer Garner…. one of Spielberg’s better releases in recent years…
I love this Film… Nice Parallel to My Reviews by the way, lol
And the Starting Credits, like you say, are Awesome
If my memory serves me, they Filmed this Film in like 30 Days, which is just Amazing… I think it was a Budget Constraint thing
But DiCaprio is just Brilliant in this Film
Nope, Looked it up, here’s a Qoute from Wikipedia “The film was shot in 147 different locations in only 52 days.”
Which is just unbelievable…
Nice Selection, and Review
DarkJade-
Thanks DarkJade 😉 I knew they filmed it in a very short period of time but I didn’t know it was that short 😛
