Paul: “Nostalgia is denial – denial of the painful present… the name for this denial is golden age thinking – the erroneous notion that a different time period is better than the one ones living in – its a flaw in the romantic imagination of those people who find it difficult to cope with the present.”
As usual Woody Allen did a great work in his film and Midnight in Paris not only offers a pretty cool storyline but it also has a wonderful characterization of Paris through time ( La belle époque, the 20s, the present). Definitely a must see for all Paris admirers!

Lovely~ Ana….I’ve been looking forward to seeing the movie. Haven’t rented it yet! Thanks for the great reminder!
Reblogged this on Ann Novek–With the Sky as the Ceiling and the Heart Outdoors.

Midnight in Paris was one of my favorite movies of 2011. Owen Wilson was perfect in it and I really enjoyed that all of the literary characters were so perfectly drawn to what the modern interpretation of them is. Can you imagine Hemingway any differently? Or Dali? Or Scott and Zelda? Especially Zelda! It is a movie that I am sure I will continue to enjoy watching over the coming years.
I wouldn’t say it better 😉 Totally agree
Hilarious film!
I want to see this film!
The weirdest thing in this movie is that it introduces time travel seamlessly, and you don’t even think of it! I also find interesting that you write both in English and Portuguese!
Sim facto as viagens no tempo parecem algo normal no filme.
This sounds lovely, I don’t think I’ve seen it, I’ll check it out, thanks! 🙂

I don’t know anything about the movie, but I do rather enjoy the sunset photo with the boat approaching the bridge. 🙂
Thanks.. Its from the pont des artes 😉
I absolutely adored this movie! I’ve seen it twice, and I could almost watch it a third time with the sound off so I can sit back and enjoy the scenery.
I really enjoyed the reconstruction of the 20s he did
