The app first entered the market in 2013. It was developed by a South Korean company, NexStreaming (later acquired by CyberLink). It came to life thanks to amateurs and professionals, which made it flexible for various editing needs.It was originally available only for Android users, but the developers added a version for iOS soon after. KineMaster became a go-to tool for content creators on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. It managed to get to a leading position as a mobile editing solution worldwide.
2013 – 2015
The early version has an orange and white color palette, which gives it an energetic and friendly appearance. The wordmark had the name printed in white using a fine, sans-serif font. The letters “O” and “S” were stylized as a videotape. They were a pleasant orange shade. A tagline that says “Unleash your creativity” hints at the amazing features and tools of the app. The app icon looked like an old camera with scissors cutting through the bottom of its outline. 2015 – 2022
The new symbol of the app was a round emblem with five white dots around its border. It resembled a classic film reel, which hinted that video editing has a long history, and the software brings new opportunities to the old-fashioned editing. The base was done in dark gray or peach. The letter “K,” which stands for the KineMaster, is placed in the very center. It is white and has straight, clean strokes with no serifs.
2022 – Today
The updated logo features a familiar round symbol in black and white. The letter “K” got rounded terminals, which not only matched the round shape but also gave the logo a friendlier look.
