Cecilia Marshall is the Executive Director of the Thurgood Marshall Foundation, where she leads the family’s efforts to preserve, protect, and promote the legacy of her grandfather, Justice Thurgood Marshall. She stepped into this role after years of leadership in national nonprofits and philanthropy, bringing deep experience in fundraising, strategic partnerships, college access and success, and program innovation to steward the Foundation’s mission at a pivotal moment.

Her career has centered on expanding opportunity and increasing social mobility. She has held senior leadership roles at Ed Advancement, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, the Jackie Robinson Foundation, and APIA Scholars, where she launched initiatives to strengthen college access, student success, and long-term impact for underrepresented communities. She holds a fine arts degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design and earlier in her career led global recruitment efforts at SCAD after beginning her professional path in corporate advertising in New York City.

Cecilia previously served on the Board of Directors of the National Scholarship Providers Association (NSPA) and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (LDF), the nation’s premier legal organization fighting for racial justice, founded by her grandfather.

Alphonso David, one of the foremost civil rights attorneys and a life-long advocate for social and economic justice, serves as the President & CEO of the Global Black Economic Forum. Mr. David brings more than two decades of experience in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors, where he has worked to advance the rights of marginalized communities through policy, legislation, litigation, and advocacy.

As President & CEO of the Global Black Economic Forum, Mr. David engages with world leaders, business executives, policymakers, entrepreneurs, activists, and consumers globally on thought leadership; corporate and entrepreneurial career development; and advancing economic and social justice for marginalized communities across the globe. Andre M. Perry is a Senior Fellow and Director of the Center for Community Uplift at the Brookings Institution. He is also a professor of practice of economics at Washington University of St. Louis. A nationally known and respected commentator on race, structural inequality, and education, Perry is the author of “Black Power Scorecard: Measuring the Racial Gap and What We Can Do to Close It” (2025, Henry Holt) and “Know Your Price: Valuing Black Lives and Property in America’s Black Cities” (2020 Brookings Press). Perry is a regular contributor to MSNBC and has been published by numerous national media
outlets, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Nation, Bloomberg CityLab, and CNN.com.

Perry has also made appearances on HBO, CNN, PBS, National Public Radio, NBC, and ABC. Perry’s research focuses on race and structural inequality, education, and economic inclusion. Perry’s recent scholarship at Brookings examines well-being across racial groups and regions in America, focusing on how investments in critical assets can lead to thriving.

Perry’s pioneering work on asset devaluation has made him a go to researcher for policymakers, community development professionals and civil rights groups. Perry co-authored the groundbreaking 2018 Brookings Institution report “The Devaluation of Assets in Black Neighborhoods” and has presented its findings on the price of home in Black neighborhoods across the country, including to the U.S. House Financial Services Committee. He has extended that report’s focus on housing in Black neighborhoods to include other assets such as businesses, schools and banks.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Perry earned his Ph.D. in education policy and leadership from the University of Maryland College Park.

Susan Asiyanbi is a nationally recognized executive advisor and operator with more than two decades of cross-sector leadership. She is known for her ability to help CEOs and senior teams navigate complexity, accelerate alignment, and strengthen the systems and relationships that drive performance.

Before founding The Olori Network, Susan served as  Chief Operating, Program, and Transformation Officer at Teach For America where, in successive executive roles, she led operations across 51 regions and stewarded the work of more than 2,000 staff. It was there that she discovered a unique ability to build high-performance teams capable of driving results while upholding a high bar for culture — even amid significant organizational change.

Earlier in her career, Susan held strategic and operational roles at Sears Holdings Corporation and Boston Consulting Group, building the analytical and adaptive foundations that shape her work with executive teams today.

In founding The Olori Network, Susan brought together everything she learned: that strategy and culture must move together; that executive teams don’t just need to move fast, they need to move together; and that leadership is ultimately about relationships, trust, and clarity in action. Elaine Atherton

Elaine is from North Carolina and began her career as a high school English teacher. Her foundation as an educator critical to her passion for advocating for expanded opportunities in education, technology, and entrepreneurship for diverse populations. She has worked with educational non-profits for almost a decade and is firmly committed to eliminating barriers and gaps in education and access to resources and funding, especially for organizations and children in underserved and excluded communities around the world. 

Throughout her 16-year career she has transitioned from instructional coach to early-stage entrepreneur to a nonprofit leader focused on steering organizational strategy, program innovation and expansion, and partnership cultivation. In her previous role as Head of Programs at Scratch Foundation, Elaine spearheaded the creation of the Scratch Education Collaborative, a program that engaged 225 organizations from 48 countries around the world in a global community of practice. Through her leadership, $2.5 million dollars in total grants have been awarded to almost 100 nonprofit organizations and schools/universities since 2022 resulting in more than 7 million children and educators being impacted. Before joining Scratch, Elaine was the Director of Academics for Duke TIP, a Durham, North Carolina-based organization that focused on providing learning experiences for academically gifted students.

Naimah Bilal

Naimah Bilal is a capital strategist, storyteller, and philanthropic leader whose work sits at the intersection of equity, narrative power, and systems change. She currently serves as Chief Development Officer at Camelback Ventures, where she leads efforts to expand capital access for underinvested entrepreneurs and innovators reshaping the future.

Naimah brings more than 17 years of leadership experience spanning the performing arts, education, and philanthropy. Before joining Camelback, she served as Chief Development Officer at the National Network of Abortion Funds, where she guided a fundraising team of 18 and helped raise over $28 million annually— channeling critical resources to the front lines of reproductive care and access during one of the most
turbulent legal and political periods in recent history. She also served as Chief Development Officer at the Children’s Literacy Initiative, where she doubled philanthropic investment in culturally responsive literacy coaching for schools nationwide, serving over 100,000 children.

Before transitioning into philanthropy, Naimah trained and performed as a professional orchestral violinist and violist. She served as Artistic Director for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and May Festival, programming and casting over 220 orchestral, choral, chamber and operatic productions and recordings. An Emmy Award–winning storyteller, Naimah was honored for her work as producer and host of a PBS series that uplifted stories of Black changemakers in Cincinnati, Ohio. Whether on screen, on stage, or in the pages of a grant proposal, she believes storytelling and narrative power are vital tools for facilitating access and redistributing resources.

Currently completing her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership with a focus on Leadership, Curriculum, and Culture at Miami University, Naimah’s research explores the convergence of Black women’s leadership and philanthropy—anchored in the belief that those most proximate to injustice are also the most qualified and effective in designing and implementing transformative solutions.

Charles Corprew

Dr. Corprew is passionate about revolution, not the bloody riots that mar cities and countries, but the opportunities we all have for personal and global transformation. Charles believes that answering the most thought-provoking question of one’s life, “What’s Your Revolution?”, will kickstart one’s journey to be the healthiest most transformative version of themselves. Charles helps people fulfill their revolutions by providing educational skills, life tools, coaching, and capital necessary to illuminate and catalyze the genius that resides within all of us.

It would be the lessons learned from his mentees at Green Run High School that allowed Charles to attain his Ph.D. in Psychological Science from Tulane University, where he focused his research on resilient outcomes for boys and men of color. After a successful tenure as a professor, where he received national and international recognition for his scholarship, Charles believed there was more to sitting behind a desk pontificating about how things should be. After being spurred on by his W.K. Kellogg Foundation Fellowship award, Charles started his social impact consulting firm, “What’s Your Revolution?”, where he works to help people and organizations “Revolt and Evolve”. As founder and CEO, Charles has worked with some of the most influential leaders to catalyze and disperse capital, marshal resources for communities, and craft policy, programming, and practice that allows everyone to thrive.

In 2019, Dr. Corprew joined Camelback Ventures, an early-stage start-up accelerator for women and entrepreneurs of color as the Director of the Conscious Tech and Education Fellowship. He is currently the Chief Programming and Operations Officer at 757 Collab which is a collaboration of 757 Angels, 757 Accelerate, and 757 StartUp Studios. In this role, Charles leads the investment team for the Angels and works across the collab to bring his time, treasure, and talent to help scale promising and disruptive companies.

Tiffany Green

Dr. Tiffany Green is a licensed psychotherapist and the founder of Uprooted Academy™, a non-profit that supports high schools with the infrastructure needed to help students and families navigate postsecondary planning with clarity and confidence. Uprooted Academy’s AI-powered platform is grounded in neuroscience and mental health research and is designed to reduce stress, increase persistence, and expand access during the college application process. Their platform provides insights to the field about how students and counselors experience AI resources to close college advising gaps.

Dr. Green brings over 15 years of experience working across high schools and higher education settings, including roles in first-year college counseling and as a former adjunct professor of psychology. Her doctoral research examined how AI-driven interventions can mitigate stress during the college application process, particularly for students navigating under-resourced counseling systems.

Her work sits at the intersection of mental health, education systems, and technology, with a focus on how schools can use responsible AI to complement—not replace—human advising and advance more supportive, student-centered pathways. Dr. Green’s work has been featured in Forbes for innovation in education technology, and she currently resides in Los Angeles.

She is pursuing her Doctorate of Education in Educational Policy and Leadership at American University, with a strong emphasis on systems thinking and anti-racism policy. Her research centers around measuring the impact of digital wellness interventions on enhancing the length of telomeres in Black high-achieving students during the college application process, aligning with the principles she has woven into her Uprooted Academy platform.

Tiffany earned her graduate degree in counseling psychology from Howard University and became a licensed psychotherapist. Tiffany is trained in trauma modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). In addition, her resume includes being an adjunct faculty of undergraduate and graduate psychology, working at the #20 high school in the United States, and serving as a licensed therapist and college counselor for the world’s only high school that travels the globe. She encountered students from 40+ countries who studied in 12 countries on six continents in their high school journey.

She has helped guide students to all eight Ivy League schools as a college counselor and admissions essay reader. In 2022, she was one of twelve founders to be selected for Camelback Ventures and Fast Forward to help scale her platform to reach thousands of students across the country . She has spoken to audiences across the globe about accessible college admission practices and incorporating mental health in the college application process.

Tiffany is a Black, first-generation graduate who used the field of education to take on new opportunities. Tiffany has traveled to over 80 countries and is a true adventurer who enjoys cycling, surfing, snowboarding, and cultural activities with friends and family.

Norma Parraz

Ms. Parraz is also the Founder of new generation Ed -Tech communications solutions for schools developing and delivering centralized digital frameworks with robust stakeholder engagement.

Ms. Parraz’ past professional experience includes 9 years of legislative and public policy work in the nation’s capital as well as serving on national, regional and local non-profit boards, expanding mission-aligned goals. As a business leader, she continues to advance growth opportunities with partner networks accelerating impactful equity, empowerment to affected communities via cross-sector collaborations.

Ms. Parraz is a graduate of the University of Arizona, an alumnus of the Ford Foundation Public Policy Fellowship, as well as, an active alumnus of the Camelback Fellowship, and Latinos for Education Ed-Tech Fellowship Programs. Shawna Young is a social impact entrepreneur, educator, and speaker who has dedicated her career to empowering individuals and driving social change. She joined Camelback as CEO in the Spring of 2024 leading the organization through a Founder transition. Prior to Camelback, Shawna was interim CEO of Prior Ada Developers Academy, a nonprofit that has trained over 1,000 women and gender expansive people of color as software developers, since 2013.  Shawna also served as the Executive Director of the Scratch Foundation, Duke Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP), and MIT Introduction to Engineering and Science. She began her career as a science educator in North Carolina and also managed diversity programs at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.

With a background in creating accessible educational opportunities for underrepresented communities, Shawna is an influential voice in education, equity, and social justice. As a visionary leader, Shawna has spent nearly 25 years nurturing talent and shaping the futures of thousands of aspiring changemakers. With more than two decades of experience in education and social impact, Dr. Jones has led organizational growth, multi-city expansion, leadership development, and systems-level improvement across schools and nonprofit organizations.

Before joining The Academy Group, Dr. Jones served as Principal of Kenwood Academy High School, where he led the school to five consecutive years of Level 1+ performance, the highest rating awarded by Chicago Public Schools. Under his leadership, Kenwood increased attendance, college enrollment, and scholarship attainment while earning recognition for academic excellence, performing arts, and athletics.

Dr. Jones has been recognized nationally and locally for his leadership in education. He is a recipient of the Golden Apple Stanley C. Golder Leadership Award and received a resolution from the Chicago City Council for exemplary school leadership. His work has been featured by The New York Times, The Atlantic, WGN, the Gates Foundation, the College Board, and other organizations focused on education and social impact. In addition to his executive leadership, Dr. Jones is the founder of KM2 Education Group LLC, a strategy consulting firm focused on leadership development, school improvement, organizational design, and systems change. He also serves as CEO of REACH Pathways, the organization’s L3C subsidiary built to scale workforce readiness for young people of color and generate earned revenue in service of Chicago Scholars’ long-term sustainability.

Under Jeffery’s leadership, Chicago Scholars delivers outcomes four times the national average for comparable student populations, with scholars earning more than $30 million in merit aid in 2025 alone. He has positioned the organization at the intersection of college access, career acceleration, and AI fluency, equipping every staff member with Microsoft Copilot and launching new pathways that prepare scholars to thrive in competitive industries with clarity, confidence, and professional networks.

A 2023 Leadership Greater Chicago Signature Fellow, Jeffery has been recognized as a Crain’s Notable Black Leader, an Obama USA Leader, and a Master of Scale Fellow. A tenured professor and nationally recognized thought leader, Dr. Powell has shaped national mental health policy, led groundbreaking public-private partnerships, and worked globally to advance equity-driven solutions that create measurable, lasting change across all facets of population health.

Dr. Powell received a Ph.D. and M.S. in Clinical Psychology and M.P.H. from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and has held tenured professorships at some of the nation’s most prestigious academic institutions including the University of Connecticut where she served Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Health Disparities Institute and UNC-Chapel Hill’s Gillings School of Global Public Health, where she served as Research Associate Professor in the Department of Behavior Health and Associate Director of the Center for Health Equity Research in the Department of Social Medicine.

Most recently, Wizdom was the Chief Purpose Officer at Headspace where she oversaw the organization’s Social Impact, Legislative Affairs, and Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) portfolios as well as company-wide organizational culture and belonging efforts. During her time at Headspace, she spearheaded an innovative partnership with the City of Hartford, Connecticut that promoted a citywide culture of mindfulness and mental health through resource provision, evaluation, and training. Dr. Powell has deep expertise with localized population health interventions and place-based mental health research, programming, and advocacy across the country and Africa.

Dr. Powell has been called on to provide hearings and testimony for bipartisan committees driving national policy around mental health.
