Zipster verbessert das Leben mit Zip-Archiven. Hast du jemals neidisch auf die Art und Weise geschaut, wie Windows-Benutzer einfach in Zip-Dateien browsen, Dateien hinein- und herauskopieren können, und das alles ohne ein Zip-Utility zu verwenden? Mit Zipster sind deine Zip-Dateien wie ein weiterer Ordner im Finder. Und noch besser als bei Windows kannst du Dateien öffnen und in ihnen speichern, von jeder Anwendung aus.

Great app, wish it were still supported. The preference / license file needs to be placed here: ~/Library/Application\ Support/Zipster (but you may need to create the folder). Then just move Zipster.licensekey into that folder. This is all legit as the developer has graciously provided Zipster unsupported but free to the Mac community.

It is a free utility and that is much appreciated. There are some bugs that are annoying but it is useful overall.
In particular, when opening a zip file, Zipster closes the folder that contains the zip file. Very annoying and disorienting. This forces you to have to open the folder that contains the folder that contains the zip file before opening the zip file... to allow you to maintain your context in the finder after hipster changes it.
A new one that I found today is where a zip file contains folders and you create a new one, then try and move an old one into the new. A dialog opens telling you that whatever you are moving is already in the empty target folder.
Overall, this idea is good but the implementation suffers a bit. I keep it in spite of the bugs and owning BetterZip because "less is more" but the first bug is why I only use it on occasion.

Just so everyone is aware, there is presently a bug in OS X Mavericks (OS X 10.9 13A598/13A603) that sometimes causes a kernel panic when ejecting zip files from Zipster. Having investigated it ourselves, sadly we don’t think it’s something we can work around in Zipster.
To be clear: this is a bug IN MAC OS X ITSELF, not in Zipster (which doesn't even contain any kernel code), and we’ve reported it to Apple in the hope that they’ll fix it soon.

Didn't work for me. After installing it and allowing it to make itself the default app for ZIP files, I clicked on a ZIP file and it simply expanded instead of opening like a Finder folder as promised. (System 2010 Mac Pro, OS X 10.8.5, enough RAM and disk space to kill a horse.)
