I don’t understand when parents are all “how dare they change the way math is taught, now I can’t help my kids.” Like babe, it’s not about YOU. It’s about helping your kids learn the same math YOU HATED … in a way that doesn’t lead to THEM hating it! #iteachmath

One of the highlights of my entire life may have been when my band opened for @BonJovi but @joboaler coming to my @NCTM session is definitely right up there. 2010 me, who cited her in my thesis more than ANYone else, never could have imagined this day would come🙏🥹 #NCTMDC23

We don’t expect kids to WANT to learn how to play music when they’ve never heard an actual SONG before … so why do we expect them to WANT to learn math when they’ve never been exposed to ACTUAL MATHEMATICS?! Major mic drop moment for @mathyawp wow 🫳🎤
