    As the sun rises, February 14, 2022, I am honored to be selected by our School Board to come back and serve as Superintendent. Always grateful for the dedicated teachers, school leaders and staff members that work collectively to ensure that students are successful. I ♥️ MDCPS.

    Seven years ago, former Superintendent Carvalho kicked off the first-ever #MiamiSup5K. Thank you for your vision and for bringing together a community of supporters, year after year, to rally for public education. Welcome home!

    One last personal memory from the 5K challenge. My son was by my side all the way. Did not know that this opportunity would provide quality time for both of us. I am blessed with his energy, humor and sense of spirit.

    Before and After. Bianca in 5th grade and I a principal. Yesterday I get an apointment for an eye examination and she attends to me as a patient. So honored to see how she has blossomed to be so articulate, resourceful and helpful. A story to cherish. ⁦@MDCPS⁩

    You need special individuals in your life that become role models and mentors. I followed his leadership style as a principal and now he is a trusted mentor. Mr. Robert Kalinsky!

    It is an honor and privilege to participate in my first @MDCPS School Board Meeting as Superintendent. I have spent my first three weeks connecting with stakeholders and engaging in activities that will help move the needle for our students, employees and entire school system.

    As a former Principal, I counted on Ms. Alfaro & Ms. Nanney to provide the emotional support students needed to feel valued. Many times counselors are the ones that are able to genuinely connect with students. A week of recognition for all they do is not enough. Thank you!
