    First #UFE in #Tanzania in #2020. And this is a special one, as it is the first performed in our own procedure room which now has DSA capacity. We are hoping this will provide more women in Tanzania the option to #SaveTheUterus and avoid surgery. @EmoryRadiology @NimaKokabiMD

    Dr. Azza is training to become the 1st female interventional radiologist in Tanzania. Here she is preparing for a uterine fibroid embolization. This procedure allows for treatment of uterine fibroids through a tiny catheter in the groin without open surgery.#road2ir @RADAIDIntl

    After completing IR training in Tanzania last year @ivanrukundo returned to his homeland Rwanda 🇷🇼 and has been establishing IR there. He now performs IR procedures on a daily basis and is in the process of setting up a training program 💪 #ittakesavillage #samecareeverywhere
