It is a classic case of 'do as I say, not as I do' - and it is not as if he was unfamiliar with guidance he himself helped draw up.
It seems to me to be utterly indefensible and his position wholly untenable. 2/2

- I can only share the collective dismay and I understand the widespread anger. So many people in this constituency have gone out of their way to stick to both the letter and the spirit of the guidelines and laws, despite it coming at great personal emotional cost. 1/2
- Still backing Rishi as last summer. He has the economic credibility to succeed, the public confidence to get us back on an even footing and is a unifying figure. We can still win with Rishi.
- Delighted to accept @theresa_may 's offer to join the Government as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at Department of Transport.
- Thank God. He should have recognised he had lost our confidence days if not months ago. I wrote in January 2022 to Graham Brady to call for a vote of confidence - this has taken too long.
