    What I’ve realized through all of this winter mess is that the most frustrating thing is not the missed practices or games. It’s the lost opportunities to spend time with our kids. The longer I coach, the more I realize those are the memories that will always stick with you.

    We are very excited to welcome two new coaches to our staff! Former Mustang standout Miranda Chapman will be our new 9/10 coach and former Kennedy Coach Tony Vis will be a new varsity assistant. These are two outstanding additions! @tonydvis @miranduhkayy

    Final from Story City Mount Vernon 29 Roland-Story 40 The Mustangs finish the season with a winning record (12-11), but more importantly we made basketball fun again. We played hard. We loved each other. We created something worth missing #TogetherFirst

    One of my absolute favorite traditions is The Last Practice. A Pick-Up Game: Seniors + Coaches + Freshmen vs Juniors + Sophomores Followed by The Appreciation Line. Every player & coach get a moment to appreciate what they’ve enjoyed about each other.

    Not sure I’ve been prouder of a group of kids. Down to basically 6 varsity players due to injuries and sickness our kids battled their tails off against the #2 team in 4A. We asked them to compete and play hard for 32 minutes and that’s exactly what they did. Proud coach.

    Final from Western Dubuque Mount Vernon 45 Western Dubuque 48 Battled back from an 8pt halftime deficit. Missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send it to OT. Seven different players scored led by Liz Daugherty with 15. Much to be proud of tonight. #TogetherFirst

    Congrats to our Wamac Conference All Conference players! @summerbrand_01 was named 2nd Team All Conference! Summer was extremely deserving as she lead our team in most categories and did whatever she could to help us be successful.

    Congratulations Kameron Brand and Lilly See on receiving WaMaC Recognition for their outstanding basketball seasons. Brand set a NEW SCHOOL RECORD for 3-point accuracy by shooting 48% from behind the arc this season (minimum 50 attempts).
