- Devastated to hear the news about our chum Andy Peebles. He was about to join us at Heritage. We joined Radio One together. Knew his music & cricket inside out. Raise your bat & enjoy a long rest in the pavilion. We lunched recently with DLT & Adrian Juste. Great innings.
- The great Johnnie Walker....Once a pirate always a pirate! Loved his music. Always fought his corner. Never rolled over. An inspiration to so many. Cue: Duane Eddy...'Because They're Young....'
- So sad to hear about Marianne Faithfull. The look of sixties. The tears go by. The image remains. @Faithfull_M
- Thank you to @BBCOne & @mrdanwalker for asking me to talk about the lovely Janice Long this morning, champion of many bands, always a laugh & a natural broadcaster. Catch you somewhere down the road.......
- Very, very sad to hear about my old friend & colleague, the lovely Janice Long. An absolute delight to do many radio and TV programmes with and always a champion of good music. How terrible that we never get to say goodbye. A tear, a big hug & wonderful memories. @janicelongdj
- Wright. Chum: In the beginning was Read & Wright. We got ‘fired’ on a regular basis for being too rebellious, too creative & pursuing our own music policy. We persisted. We came through. You dun good boy! Your Pal, Read.
- I see the BBC's new Saturday Night Show, 'That's My Jam' is getting slated. Why create programmes that no-one watches. We used to get a regular audience of 10 million every Saturday night for Pop Quiz & the BBC still won't bring it back or show the classics sitting in the archive
- Devastated to hear the news about Olivia Newton -John. A lovely lady and always upbeat.
- Awful news about Rick Buckler The Jam's powerhouse drummer. One of my favourite bands. Sad news for Paul & Bruce...but what a legacy.
- Deeply upset to hear about Bill Kenwright. No-one was as passionate about theatre & music as Bill. It was his life blood. The last text I received was three kisses as he went in for his op. Dim the lights of the West End & let's have a theatre named after him.
- Very upset to hear about Mike Peters, Alarm front man, talented songwriter & lovely guy. here we are at TOTP before their first appearance with 68 Guns. Last year Mike travelled all the way down south so we could catch up & do some Heritage Chart TV. A 68 Gun salute old pal.
- So sad to hear about Leslie. Lovely man. Always good company. What a long and distinguished career. Hats off to you old chum.
- So sad the news about Clodagh Rodgers, a star in many spheres: Film, TV, Stage & hit songs & of course Eurovision. She worked with so many greats in different genres. Commiserations to Frank, Louis & Lavinia & bless you for asking, and trusting, me to write her obituary. xx
