Provost Searle announced tonight that Sonya Forte Duhé will not assume the position of Cronkite dean on July 1. An interim dean will be announced at a later date. The Cronkite School remains committed to being a diverse, equitable and inclusive school.
The Cronkite School is excited to announce that NBC’s Lester Holt will be the 2019 recipient of the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism. The ceremony will be held in Phoenix on Cronkite’s birthday, Nov. 4. ow.ly/btIA50uWALi
Provost Searle announced Senior Associate Dean @kristingilger is moving into the role of interim dean, effective immediately. She joined @ASU in 2002 and has been instrumental in the transformation of Cronkite. The search continues for a permanent dean.
Cronkite & the university are aware of concerns being expressed about incoming dean Sonya Duhé, and we take these concerns seriously. The university is looking into them and, as we await a resolution, we are recommitting ourselves to diversity & inclusiveness in everything we do.
