I started editing at the age of 12. It began when I hooked up two VCR tape decks together and cut a short film. That day I became a film editor. Today...11 feature films and many years later...is another very humbling and special day. Thank you @ACEFilmEditors.

As far as we have come in filmmaking, this shot from 1940 is still pure magic.

PARASITE - Storyboard to Film Director Bong Joon Ho storyboards the entire film before he rolls the camera. He does not shoot master shots or any coverage. He shoots his storyboards. Here is a quick comparison of the storyboards and the final film... #filmmaking #craft

"THE BRODY CUT" One of the best edits in film history. As good as the cuts in 2001 or Lawrence of Arabia? Abso-fucking-lutely. Setup ➡️ Payoff.

Has anyone ever taken "Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior" and attempted to color grade any sequences to match the style of "Fury Road"? #freeidea

"Dodge this." The full film image before a widescreen matte is applied. That's one wide lens!

Editing is much more than "cutting out the bad parts and using the best take." Editors embrace all the hard work of the cast, crew & every department to craft magical moments while telling an elegant and compelling story. This is one of those moments... #BetterCallSaul #montage

Quentin Tarantino's favorite edit in film history is the cut to the wide shot of the three gunslingers in the climactic cemetery showdown...a full reveal of the final location after numerous close-ups.

THE STUDIO reveals another classic filmmaking technique with a sneaky 🤠TEXAS SWITCH🤠 on the table fall. Clever camera operating hides Seth as he clears the frame and is replaced by the stuntman.

These two consecutive shots in PARASITE are both split-screen composites. The first shot uses two parts of the same take so all the actors appear in the frame at the same time. The second shot uses two separate hand performance takes to create more energy. Editor: Jin-mo Yang
