- Constantly feeling Feelings of Overworked / Not doing Burned out Enough ( •_•) (•_• ) ( ง )ง ୧( ୧ ) /︶\ /︶\
- On June 11th, Michael Hickson, a quadriplegic black man with COVID-19 was killed by a hospital in Austin Texas. Doctors decided he had "no quality of life" and was not worth spending the resources to save. The conversation between his doctor and his wife was caught on audio 1/?
- Well, no. As a quadriplegic, I want AI. I want AI to identify treatments for my terminal illness. I want AI to reduce the workload on nurses. I want AI to find cures. I want AI to enable me to use robotic arms to give someone a hug since mine don't work. I don't want AI tonobody wants to play AI games. nobody wants to read AI articles. nobody wants AI assistance. nobody wants AI artwork. nobody wants AI voiceovers or characters. nobody wants AI, period.
- Pretty snarky take on a device that could literally enable a disabled gamer to play for the first time. I would encourage you to expand your empathy, whoever is running Gizmodo socials.
- Therapist: And what do we do when we are sad? Me: Add game to cart Therapist: No
- For 15 years, I've been telling people how video games improve the quality of life for people with disabilities But to really give the maximum effort, I asked my friend @VancityReynolds to help support the mission of @AbleGamers Will you join us? ablegamers.org/donate
00:00 - Also, he included disability in that speech Please don't overlook this For the first time in forever, I heard a president recognize people like ME
- As we celebrate Prime Day, let us not forget the real reason for the season. Let us not forget his sacrifice.
- WE DID IT WE DID IT WE RAISED $1,000,000 FOR DISABLED GAMERS THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
00:00 - I am so shook. @Twitch donating $1,000,000 to @AbleGamers is going to *literally* change the lives of thousands of people with disabilities. To you who supported me, my work, AbleGamers, and our lofty dream of enabling everyone to play: Thank you They did this because of you!
00:00 - A phlebotomist was sent to my house to do a blood draw unbeknownst to me. My nurse explained I was busy and her response was "He is crippled what could he possibly be doing that's so important I can't do my job?!" I was on a business call with Microsoft securing $100,000 forI've just been asked to re-book a home visit for a housebound patient for a different day as they won't be in when we visit.
- Replying to @stevenspohnI've been stewing on this for a few days as I try to come up with the right words to explain to you how much of an underlying fear this scenario is for much of the disabled community. We live our entire lives in fear that one day a doctor will decide we just aren't worth it.
- Sub vs. Dub Subtitles are an accessibility feature for the Deaf and hard of hearing communities. Dubbing is an accessibility feature for the blind and low vision communities. Everybody's needs are important. That's it. That's the hot take.
