Bowling Green deserves leaders who lift people up instead of leaving people out. That’s been my life’s work. And that’s why I’m running for mayor. I moved here, fresh out of school, with my husband Michael 30 years ago. We decided to start our family here. My son Alex grew up in

Hi Rand! 👋 Actual KY state legislator and your Bowling Green neighbor here. 1. Our bipartisan election laws worked. 2. Our votes were protected. 3. "Election fraud" is extremely, extremely rare and didn't affect a single outcome. Hope that helps!
    Replying to @RandPaul
That’s why I’ll spend the next two years going to every state legislature trying to fix the laws, protect our vote and stop election fraud.

I voted no on private school vouchers tonight because public dollars should be spent on public schools. Our students and teachers deserve nothing less.

WE DID IT! @GovAndyBeshear signed HB 95, capping insulin copays at $30 a month for those with state-regulated health insurance plans or plans purchased on the marketplace exchange, state employees, and people under group plans, to take effect January 1, 2022.

These veto overrides are mean-spirited and cruel — denying food to struggling families, targeting kids who just want to play sports, using pregnant women as political punching bags, politicizing our libraries — all while my GOP colleagues vote (again) for legislator pay raises.

Leaving Frankfort feeling a lot — gratitude to the folks who sent me here. Anger at all the ways the legislature let them down. Hope that we can still build a better KY. Sometimes it can look impossible. But good people are still fighting. And we need you to stay in the fight.

I voted no on SB1 to keep our students, teachers, and school staff safe. COVID-19 doesn't stop at the county line or the borders of a school district. History will judge us for putting partisan politics over public health during the worst pandemic of our lifetimes.

To my colleagues who refuse to wear a mask at the Capitol: if teachers and health care workers and other essential workers have to mask up at work every day, the least you can do is put on a mask yourselves.
Today I’m attending new legislator orientation, wearing my mask and keeping socially distant to protect LRC and Capitol staff who do the bulk of the work we legislators get credit for. #maskupky #teamkentucky Sadly, many of my new colleagues are not.

I voted and you can, too! Hoping for a great turnout and a strong win for #TeamKentucky. Go vote, Kentucky!

My favorite 2021 moment. Starting tomorrow, insulin copays under most health insurance plans will be capped at $30 a month, thanks to the bill @dannybentley12 and I cosponsored and @GovAndyBeshear signed. We can come together to do big things, and we'll keep doing exactly that.

What you won't hear when they say HB 563 will be privately funded: Tax credits w/o new revenue = spending public, taxpayer $$$. *$25 million a YEAR*, in fact. I won't vote for a $25 mil giveaway to private schools when we "couldn't afford" upgrades for public school textbooks.

I voted against a $25 million-a-year giveaway in taxpayer $$$ to private schools in only a handful of counties, a bill so toxic it barely overrode the veto. I stand with BG students, families, and teachers. I stand with KY's public schools. You all deserved better than this.

Thank you to everyone who's been with me on the last four years of this underdog journey. I'm not walking away from this fight. And I hope you won't either.
