📝 Order 217 of the standing orders of Parliament offers a clear procedure for vetting Presidential nominees for appointment; any conduct outside the orders is contempt of #GhParliament What we witnessed Thursday night at Appointments C'ttee is unfortunate & must be condemned.

📢#GhParliament's Committee on Finance is accepting public memoranda on the Exemptions Bill, 2021. Anybody who wishes to make an input in to this bill can contact the Committee @parliament_gh below. ‼️ Note that deadline to submit all public memoranda is 7th May, 2022 📅.

Currently, the 275-Member House of #GhParliament is divided b/n @OfficialNDCGh & @NPP_GH. The 2 parties have struggled /w women representation since the (re)start of the republic in 1992. The ff graph shows how these dominant parties have fielded women in Parliament. #OdekroData

Based on the pronouncement that House Speaker Bagbin made last Thursday on 4 MPs, the balance of power has shifted in the #GhParliament. NDC caucus says it will 'jealously guard' its new majority & not surrender. According to the caucus, Speaker has jurisdiction over the matter.

Official records of #GhParliament don't lie. Prez @NAkufoAddo, then MP in 2005, said this about the Auditor-General; were these remarks a lip-service or he truly meant every word of them? On Monday, current Auditor-General in a letter was asked to take his "accumulated leave".
