- Met Jamyang Tsering Namgyal Hon’ble MP from Ladakh and discussed various aspects of development of the region. Ideas on tourism, organic farming, capacity building , marketing of handicrafts and investment and forming of a think tank figured prominently.
- This year Pujya Priyadarshni became a proud member of the Indian Foreign Service. After completing Foundation Course at Mussoorie she joined the Foreign Service Institute today. A memorable day for all of us .
- Sanjay Prashar, champion of the cause of distressed seafarers met me today to discuss issues of seafarers. Issues of stranded seafarers in China, Nigeria, Australia etc and action to be taken was the focus. NHRC has a working group on seafarers.

- Chandrakant Modak,age 77 yrs,is the most amazing person.Met him recently in Kudal in Konkan.His job is to sweep a huge premises of a resort .From morning till evening he is seen sweeping the premises.I asked him if he ever gets tired. He replied “Working has become my habit”.
