    Polite reminder to Labour MPs this morning - you cannot support this deal & claim to be opposed to a hard border. They are completely irreconcilable Tory Gov may have absconded on responsibility to people of NI & upholding GFA. Labour definitely has not!

    Some hardliners euphoric at one mistake from EU miss the point The fact friends were open, honest, listened to each other & it’s now been resolved is a good thing If this had been from ERG or No.10, they’d have doubled down, told lies & denied it all. That’s the difference!

    Labour MPs should be writing to PM Johnson & UK Gov, not EU “We do not stand in judgement on UK proposals... re: NI border” - completely unacceptable These proposals create a hard border & undermine GFA You should oppose them and stand with ppl of NI

    I & 18 Labour colleagues have written to Jean Claude Junker & Donald Tusk urging the EU Commission, EU27 with the U.K. Goverment to work night and day to agree a deal. An orderly Brexit is better than a No Deal Brexit. The public are tied of deadlock and want #Brexit resolved.

    All you’ve shown here @benhabib6 is ignorance on Brexit & NI There used to be a border There were only 20 crossings w/ roads blocked & traffic redirected 👎 Customs posts came down on creation of Single Market in ‘93 Today = 208 crossings 👍 Wise up

    I am on the border between NI and ROI. Travelling in a straight line, one enters and exits the RoI a number of times. There could never be a hard border here. The UK has declared it would never seek to impose one. The whole thing is a red herring.

    Customs posts in Newry were ALWAYS 5-10miles from the line on the map Before customs posts came down in ‘93 there were 20 crossings. Today - 208! Roads closed to redirect traffic, and would be again today. We’re not going back ☘️No Brexit, No Border🌹

    BREAKING: the UK has proposed a string of "customs clearance centres" on both sides of the Irish border as a key part of its plan to replace the backstop, RTE News understands. The "centres", effectively customs posts, would be located between 5-10 miles "back" from the border.

    So insulting & hurtful. Claire Fox is an apologist for the brutal IRA murders of two small children in Warrington. They were 12 & 3yrs old. Two mums woke up the next day, on Mother’s Day, without their children. Fox never apologised, @BorisJohnson has made her a Baroness.
