    Race, gender, sexuality β€” these aren't matters of shame or pride. They aren't the substance of anyone's identity. They're happenstance. I honor the dignity/potential of every individual, but real pride is derivative of character and achievement. Pride isn't trivial; it's earned.

    Most people throughout most of history have been subjugated. Your ancestors incl subjects/slaves/servants/serfs. Despite *any* societal defect you can imagine, being a citizen of RIGHT NOW –the most free, literate, prosperous epoch in human history– is an incalculable privilege.

    So the whole β€œprogressivism is bad” argument just doesn’t have any compelling evidence that I’ve seen. When it comes to β€œDefund” & β€œSocialism” attacks, people need to realize these are racial resentment attacks. You’re not gonna make that go away. You can make it less effective.
