Just some Bitcoin mining machines heating a town in Finland. Our sixth site here is coming online soon — providing heat for the Finns and bitcoin for their owners. At this point, bitcoin mining is probably heating the homes of over 100,000 people in Finland.

One of Norway's richest men, Kjell Inge Røkke, with a net worth of $5.5 billion, is starting a Bitcoin company that will mine Bitcoin with stranded renewable energy, and has bought Bitcoin for around $60 million. Pretty damn cool.

Power bills increased by $300 per year for each home in a Norwegian town after the local #bitcoin miner shut down. The miner paid 20% of the area's grid fees, thus subsidizing other consumers. With the miner gone, people's power bills are skyrocketing. nrk.no/nordland/datas…

A Norwegian energy producer dumped 340 GWh of hydropower in 2022 due to too high water levels in its reservoirs. This wasted power could instead have been used to generate 1,800 #BTC
