Banning wood-burning stoves is a disaster for us. They are a key part of our net zero by 2030 strategy. Practical & cheap to fit compared to heat pumps etc. They provide hot water in winter when solar thermal can't. Island timber harvesting provides local affordable fuel & jobs.

Let Hogmanay begin! Superb effort by the skipper of @CalMacFerries MV Loch Nevis. Against the weather odds (and gods), and after a nervous 20 mins lurching around in the swell, the Hogmanay ceilidh band, family, festive guests, fuel & food were all delivered safely. Thank phew!

26 years ago, the 60 or so residents of Eigg gathered with friends from across Scotland & beyond to mark the community buyout of the Isle of Eigg by unveiling a plaque at this standing stone. A lifetime of change achieved by hard work & support from many people and organisations.

Eigg’s self-catering and B&B hosts worked together over last 12 months to prepare & submit our short-term let licence applications. Help from each other & support from @HighlandCouncil licencing team & local contractors meant the process was broadly positive (if expensive) 1/10

Been asked to point out - "ban" is for new build houses & conversions only, not for existing homes. But as we're trying to build new homes & renovate others (presuming that's a conversion) the challenge is very real. Re urban air quality questions, we have 1 house per 107 acres.
